You don't "drop the second A." It was never there

"Adam" isn't being analyzed as an English word, but as a Hebrew word. In Hebrew, it is spelled Aleph Daleth Mem.
What you need to do is learn to read Hebrew, and look up (in a Hebrew dictionary or lexicon) how each word is spelled.
