In the 1990's I was into Bhakti yoga. So from 1994-1999 I worshiped as a conservative Jew. I was close to a Rabbi and his family. I worshiped the High Holy Days.I worshiped the lesser holy days. I wore the tallit and the kippah. I read from the siddur in Hebrew everyday. And I fasted during the year a bunch for religious reasons.

So having experience in religious fasting I decided to fast and to deprive myself sleep as I read Liber LXV as an experiment. The thesis is that the sleep deprivation and fasting will cause an altered state of awareness where I would be more susceptible to the verbal vibrations of Liber LXV.

I have been reading one chapter out loud a night beginning with chapter 1 and proceeding in an ordered fashion.

I have had some results. LXV seems to vibrate from my lips and into my astral body but not in a gross sense.

I have noticed LVX vibrating in my mind for hours. I cant seem to think of anything else but the images from the Liber.

My body is wore out but my mind is clear. It just seems to be vibrating but not on the mundane plane. More like the Intellectual plane . The first He in Yod-He-V-He. Thats the best I can explain it.

I have not eaten. But I have drank plenty of Indiana spring water. This isn't a concern because I know I can survive easily for at least 3 months without food and I am chubby.

I have dozed occasionally but this is more a daydreaming about LXV.

I have remained in my house for safety reasons.

I seem to be completely at peace.

I have 2 more chapters so 2 more days.

I hope someone finds this interesting.

I fell asleep for about 7 hours so I consider this a failure.

I am rehashing what I wrote and I realized something. Everything I felt and/or experienced could have resulted from the fasting and sleep deprivation ITSELF and not any spiritual event or benefit.

But I seem to have a new insight on Liber LXV. Now I knew from the beginning that this Liber concerns the HGA. But I realize now its more than a Holy Book. Liber LXV is a verb. It is Initiation in action in its most pure sense. Liber LXV is a moving Liber in the simplest terms. I am sure this sounds like nonsense but I am trying to describe a sensation I am having about this Liber.

Maybe someone else can explain this better or tell me I am delusional.

    Yes. Exactly. Very well put.

I wanted to jump on this and ask, "all things being equal, if you could only memorize one (chapter of a) Holy Book, which one would be best?" Liber AL? Liber LXV?

I have read an article in a psychology magazine lately, that may or may not have any relevancy to your experience. But it has been noticed by some researcher that the deprivation of sleep (I believe REM in particular) depresses a chemical known as MAO. If this is true, the result is that losing sleep may actually cause an acute increase in serotonin (mood boosting) chemicals in the brain.

Very nice. Also it is plausible.
