I read somebody's commentary saying it means a slug, somehow I remain doubtful. He seems to mention slime a decent amount though.

So while I'm specifically curious about that phrase, I'm generally curious if anyone has insight into Crowley's numerous "creatures of slime" references. I recall reading a snippet of his obscene poetry where he refers to the female lubrication as slimy... im going to think he's not talking about that here.

I was very much turned off by Crowley when I read his slimy words about ladies. In fact I turned off for a decade or so.

I have acute asthma and allergies and have done quiet a bit of personal research into slime, mucus and things that produce it.

AC also was an asthmatic and most likely had personal insights into this biological function. Slime and mucus have many fascinating qualities, but unfortunately they are not seen in a positive light. Slimy things are often considered base, primal, lowest of low....things that irratate, propmt fear and reaction.

Consider that our orphasis are protected from the external environment with mucus, and AC deeply probed into qualities of the orphasis.....
