Sign of the Enterer (Horus) during LBRP
-
I was under the impression the awhile that I did the "sign of the enterer" in my meditation and flow of God-power before I started my Banishings.
I have read in several posts over several sites that state to use the sign of Horus or "The Enterer" during the Pentagram rituals.
Does anyone have Crowlean references for doing this and how/when to do it?
Should I give the sign after tracing the pentagram/vibrating the divine name.
I have been vibrating Divine Names whilst tracing pentagrams, with positive effect, but is there a proper way to do this? After reading Liber O the first time, I figured the instruction was to combine the creative power of vibrating the divine name while charging the air and space around you with your Magickal weapon making the solidified pentagram of the Divine Name.
Am I wrong in doing this? It's like the divine name courses through not only my mouth/nose but my body and through my arm and through the wand in light and color.
If I am to incorporate other parts of the hierarchies other than divine names, could I vibrate the divine name while tracing the pentagram, then vibrate the other hierarchies afterword? (After Word.
)
Just a little confused.
Thank you all for your time and attention, and any help you would care to give.
Now for a cup of poppy pod tea and a walk through the woods. How I love the spring bringing and breathing life back into everything!

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
Third paragraph of Liber XXV seems sufficient enough for visualization in this stage of your training, if looking for a "Crowley" reference...
The Enterer is not absorbing. The Sign of Silence, in a sense, is the identification with the circle, absorbing the current sent forth by the Enterer. That is simply one practical aspect in this context. IMHO, it helps to be clear on the basics of the The Enterer and The Sign of Silence (Harpocrates).
All the Divine Names and such -- I don't care to comment on.
I hope this is helpful.
Love is the law, love under will.

I was originally taught to do the sign of the enterer after tracing each pentagram of the LBRP, and while holding that position, vibrate the divine name, followed by the sign of silence.
This is very complicated and unnecessary. It stems from Liber O, where section III describes "The Vibration of God-names" below:
"4. ("a") Stand with arms outstretched. ("See" illustration.)
("b") Breathe in deeply through the nostrils, imagining the name of the God desired entering with the breath.
("c") Let that name descend slowly from the lungs to the heart, the solar plexus, the navel, the generative organs, and so to the feet. {17}
("d") The moment that it appears to touch the feet, quickly advance the left foot about 12 inches, throw forward the body, and let the hands (drawn back to the side of the eyes) shoot out, so that you are standing in the typical position of the God Horus,["See" Illustration in Vol. I. No. 1, "Blind Force."] and at the same time imagine the Name as rushing up and through the body, while you breathe it out through the nostrils with the air which has been till then retained in the lungs. All this must be done with all the force of which you are capable.
("e") Then withdraw the left foot, and place the right forefinger upon the lips, so that you are in the characteristic position of the God Harpocrates["See" Illustration in Vol. I. No. 1, "The Silent Watcher."]"Then Section IV describes the LRP. When it gets to the first divine name it says "Say ("i.e." vibrate) I H V H."
So, people often conflate "vibrate" with "The Vibration of God-names". But when you read the two sections, it's clear they are talking about two separate practices. Later, I read on this forum that just tracing the pentagram, and then placing your finger or magickal instrument in the center, and vibrating the divine name is sufficient. In practice, I've found it as effective, and simpler.
"This book is very easy to misunderstand; readers are asked to use the most minute critical care in the study of it, even as we have done in its preparation"

Thank you frater 639. I do understand what you're getting at.
Benjamin.. thank you so much. I feel much better about the way I've been doing this. You see, I know that different hierarchies of different elements can be evoked or invoked with the LPRituals, along with banishing, however I seem to have picked up my method of tracing pentagrams from the elves themselves:
Paraphrasing: "They jump in and out of your chest to reassure you. Then after showing you the magickal language and how to create living pieces of creation out of nothingness with your voice, they expect you to do the same, and you feel a feeling in your stomach bubble up and then you're doing it and it just feels so good."
-Terrence Mckenna (on the elves)I can feel the divine name course through my body and out through my arm when vibrating and tracing at the same time. I do it in perfect pattern with the progression of both ie: ADNI is traced and by the time the D is finished being vibrated, I am exactly half way through tracing the pentagram.
And yes, Benjamin.. I started these practices straight from Liber O, so I started meditating, then vibrating the divine names with the sign of the enterer followed by the sign of the Aeon (Harpocrates, from Thoth Tarot), and then after a good bit of power is coursing through me, I start with the rituals of the Pentagrams and Hexagrams. After this, I sit and complete the rest of Liber O, (rising up out of the "physical" body into the "air", and so on.)
Thanks, Brother.
