resources for solitary thelemite or list of thelema rituals?
-
Hello, i first started keeping a magickal diary back in about april of this year. Also i havent done my yoga in a while such as pranayama and asana. But i was wondering what are some good rituals for a beginner to do and are there any videos or resources where i could find these to learn? I would join a group but i live way out in the country and it would be a long drive to the nearest oto body.
If you can please list the thelema rituals and what their purpose is please?

Hey there Frater O,
In addition to Takamba's overall guidance on your intro thread, I can offer the following from my personal experience:
-
Liber Resh vel Helios (The Solar Adorations) - 4 times a day, every day, without fail if you can manage it. It was my commitment to doing this single practice that realigned my own inner discipline in the right way to progress toward other work. There are MANY layers to this simple ritual that you'll begin to uncover as you practice it and integrate it into your life but, first and foremost (for me, at least) it is an excellent way to begin the realignment from the life you've been living to the life you want to be living. The text is available via google search. There are also videos on YouTube of, I think it's a Chicago body, performing it at the 4 stations.
-
Magick Without Tears - This one is tough to find in print but you can find it online via Google as well. It's a very good, mostly easy-to-read overview that should answer most of the questions you have or can think of and point you in the right direction of how to build your own practice.

Pearls of Wisdom - I'll beat Jim to the punch on this one. The introductory material on Thelema and what it means (and doesn't mean) to be a practicing Thelemite is some of the best I've ever read. Also, his dissection of several key rituals for the practice of Thelemic magick should give you some solid guidance on what the rituals are, how to perform them with right intention, and what their "purpose" is (as far as that purpose can be put into words).
Beyond that, you'll start to figure out what exactly it is that you want to accomplish and then choose the practices that will guide you toward your goals. Thelema is, by its very nature, not "one-size-fits-all" so your particular needs will dictate the practices that you should be undertaking.
