    Just wanted to get some different views on what the nature of LVX or Light is in our works. Christians refer to light in the sense of something that is "good" as opposed to "evil." Masons usually use it to mean Knowledge, as in "shedding light on the subject." And on a scientific level it's energy.

    So, anything else?

    LVX = LXV = 65 = Adonai

    I still really love the post from Fire Giver several years ago, [www.heruraha.net/viewtopic.php?p=2749#2749:i35dmrwb]](http://www.heruraha.net/viewtopic.php?p=2749#2749:i35dmrwb)

    I also agree with gmugmble's (how do you pronounce that, anyway?) implied comment that LVX is technically supposed to be a specifically Tiphareth, or 5=6, kind of experience. Not the same as the more generic symbol of "light" which pops up in many more places along the path.

    Over the past few weeks, weirdly, I've been finding much more of the "dark light" (NOX?) all throughout the Book of the Law. There's III:74, of course, with its "sun of midnight." There's the original French translation of "Khabs" from the stele (l'ombre, or shadow). There's the "black to the blind, etc." from I:60, which makes me think of the story of Jesus curing a blind dude at the pool of Siloam (very Night-of-Pan-ish?). There are implied solar eclipses all through the darn thing, with numerous Sun/Moon and Gold/Silver juxtapositions.

    I'm not sure how this leads to a better interpretation of "Light" in Thelema, but it speaks to me as a need for balance between the dark and the light.

    LVX is the light beyond light and darkness, like ananda is the bliss beyond happiness and sorrow. LVX is the awakening to non duality of things, your "oneness with God" or Adonai or Brahman or whomever...

    93 All,

    "Gmugmble:

    I got an intuitive hit on this one. If we take the Tarot Atus that spell Adonai we would end up with the word below... it suggest a formula or a process to me. 😉

    Aleph:The Fool Atu-0. Pure energy.
    Daleth:The Empress Atu-3, L the sign of the morning of Isis.
    Nun:Death-Atu-13, V the sign Apophis the destroyer.
    Yod:The Hermit-Atu-9, X the sign of Osiris slain and raised.

    Or...

    Aleph:The Fool Atu-0. None, containing All in Itself....
    Daleth:The Empress Atu-3, divides for Love's sake
    Nun:Death-Atu-13, so that All may perish in the Death of self in Love
    Yod:The Hermit-Atu-9, And be re-united with and reacknowledged as that Essence
