My copy of the ritual for passing through the tuat says that liber samekh is also numbered 120, but I have Liber samekh as liber 800. Which is correct for Samekh and where did the confusion arise?

    That's a confusing one, yes.

    Liber Samekh is Liber 800.

There was a pre-Samekh point in time when Crowley's plans for "The Bornless Ritual" rewrite was going to be called Liber 120; but that was wayyyy early, and the plans changed.

As you likely know, 120 is the value of SMK, and 800 the value of QShTh which is, among other things, the Hebrew name for Sagittarius.
