If this is not the right place for this question then please move it to the appropriate channel.

    My question is thus:
Is astral projection a siddhi or can it be a conduit to 'higher progress'?

By astral projection I mean what is also referred to as etheric projection or OBE - the willed exteriorization of your consciousness through the use of mind awake/body asleep techniques. Like this one:

    Or - freebie question 2 - is it a matter of self-discretion?

    93,

Astral travel is seen as a method or means toward 'higher progress' through Rising on the Planes, etc.

Look up "Liber O" and make sure to read the last 2 or 3 sections carefully,

I am somewhat dumbfounded as I have read that particular section of Liber O many a time, and yet I never thought of it in connection to my question. I suppose that it is just a matter of another's perspective. Many thanks IAO131.

    93,

From the recording of the different Trances Crowley mentions during his workings, it seems those alone would be worthwhile results.

Rifraf, I've read you're experimenting with pranayama to induce AP or was it visions? See Rebirthing and Holotropic breathwork. One yogini told me she uses pranayama to induce AP - too bad I didn't ask about the breathing pattern.

    93 Modest,

I have to fully say that (IMO), Liber O has nothing to do with wat you are trying to achieve, as well as find out.

I know from experience, that Rhythmic Breathing (Pranayama) , and visualization techniques on the verge of sleeping do eventually lead to OBE.

Working in the Astral, as well as rising on the planes is a bit different then consciously knowing one is out of their physical body. It is beautiful in this plane (Astral.)

The middle pillar exercise is a great a great start, as it incorporates Pranayama, and Visualization. I recommend doing it before retiring for sleep.
Keep a journal by the bed side. You will be amazed at what happens in a bit of time.

    Hope this helps.
