Sepher Ratziel
-
I've been coming across this book a few times now through various readings, and I've also seen in mentioned as "the mysterious Sepher Ratziel" in Jim's intro to "32 Paths of Wisdom."
Does it have a place in Hermetic Qabalah, and has anyone here studied it?

I have a copy in Hebrew of a book professing to be the original. There are also strong Rabbinical traditions concerning the book and its enormous power.
I do think, though, that the legends are more important than whatever passes for it now. That is, I think it's more important to understand "That secret teaching which was directly passed to Adam, Noah, and the rest," is more key to the meaning of the name than anything concretely written.
And no, I'm unaware of any place for a book by this name in any formal curriculum.

I do find the myths surrounding its origin engaging, almost palpable; written on sapphire, Ratziel proclaiming the secrets of men from Mount Horeb, it being given to Adam, then lost, etc.
"I think it's more important to understand "That secret teaching which was directly passed to Adam, Noah, and the rest," is more key to the meaning of the name than anything concretely written. "
What would you say "that secret teaching" is?

The whole of Qabalah in pre-verbal form.
The closest analog we have in Assiah is the Tarot itself.
