Question on invoking planets

I don't think "of course" at all.
These rituals are a little excessive for my taste, but not much. (Crowley, being at root a poet, did want to write this partially as a literary piece and to use the power of rhyming and rhythmic patterns for his invocations.) But, in any case, I don't consider these necessarily excessive for a major working.

Very helpful content and references Kingsolomon. The Equinox references are nice because I like to use the books rather than internet for this kind of material if I can, but it helps to know where to look. Mostly ATM I just want to experience the energies and get better at the rituals (hopefully the correct ones) rather than ask spirits for stuff, although sometimes familiars come calling anyway. Its like a nice clean 'sober high', each planet different in its content and arrival. I suspect one could get addicted to it...

Some questions:
-
Maybe my inability to read Hebrew is the problem, but where are the table of correspondence listing the names for El, Tzadkiel and Sakhiel in 777?
-
Regarding the instructions given, what distinguishes it as a specifically Path 21/Kaph invoking as opposed to a Jupiter invoking?
-
Lastly, to banish the effect of the Path 21/Kaph invoking, do you simply do the same names as before but trace a banishing Jupiter hexagram?
-
Based on your experience, are there any pitfalls I should be aware of with the Path 21 invoking?
-
Reading the above OTO ritual, I note they bid the Jupiter Spirit license to depart after stating their request. Is this necessary? Should one always banish the invoked energy within the same operation or let it be and end the ceremony with the LBRP?

Columns V & XCIX ...Sakhiel, AFAIK, does not appear in 777.

[Ed: Woops -- I misread Sakhiel for what I expected to see there, so leaving this even though it's already been answered properly above, and even though mine has more info than was requested.]
You'll find the Names, along row 4, in col. V, XCIX, C, and VI. Col. V is in Hebrew only, without transliteration, so you would need to be able to read Hebrew writing. I don't remember if 776 1/2 includes a transliteration of that column – probably it does. On that note, I might add that the value of 776 1/2 came into sharp focus when I was looking through 777 for your answer – in 776 1/2 those particular heavily-used columns are much easier to find, and if memory serves aren't chopped up as in 777 between Spheres and Paths.
"2. Regarding the instructions given, what distinguishes it as a specifically Path 21/Kaph invoking as opposed to a Jupiter invoking?"
The 21st Path is Kaph is Jupiter. The 4th Path could have been used, which is 4 is Jupiter. You'd make a determination on whether to work the Path or Sephirah depending on the specifics of the aim of the ceremony. Practically (and off-hand), I'm not sure there'd be any difference. It raises some questions in my mind about the subjectivity of the Paths and the objectivity of the Sephiroth, and their application as such in ritual, but I'll set that aside for later.
"3. Lastly, to banish the effect of the Path 21/Kaph invoking, do you simply do the same names as before but trace a banishing Jupiter hexagram?"
Yes.
"4. Based on your experience, are there any pitfalls I should be aware of with the Path 21 invoking?"
The main pitfall in some cases might be to perform the ritual successfully, thereby stirring energies without any foundation from which to direct their resettling.
"5. Reading the above OTO ritual, I note they bid the Jupiter Spirit license to depart after stating their request. Is this necessary? Should one always banish the invoked energy within the same operation or let it be and end the ceremony with the LBRP?"
It never hurts to offer a license to depart, and is probably a good idea in most cases. The latter question is, again, dependent on the aims of the ceremony. Usually you'd banish after with the same (banishing) operation, and probably should do a LBRP at the end for good measure.

Thanks guys for the information.
So, following Jim's instructions, would Sadkhiel be the entity I give my charge to for the Path 21 invocation?

In the past, I definitely and inadvertently stirred up a tempest on the collective level using Liber O - the effects of which I am still experiencing 2 years later (people around me were far more disturbed than me). And I do not consider myself a magician or adept. So I see no reason why something should not happen.
Do you have any recommendations for a regime to build up the required foundation to direct the invoked energy toward my goal? Something that can be done daily for 1 - 2 weeks prior to the operation?

I'm going from memory, but I'm sure he's there. (It might be under geomantic intelligences?)

Qabalistically, there is no Jupiter separate from it's presence on the Tree of Life. That is, if it's a Jupiter expression, it's either a Chesed idea or a Kaph idea.

"At this point you deliver the charge to the spirit. Address it to Hismael. This is what you want the spirit to do. You need to write this part yourself, because it's very personal. You should state what you want simply so that the spirit can't twist your words around. With a money spell it is good to keep in mind that a lot of people have family members with assets and things like life insurance so that a tragedy like a death in the family could result in riches. It is usually wise to craft the charge so that the spirit is bound to act without causing bodily harm to yourself or others. After all, it would also be a pretty bad outcome to be permanently disabled in a car accident but wind up with a million dollar lawsuit settlement - but you would have your money. "
Suppose one consecrates a sigil or talisman, which is a precise symbolic representation of the will of the operator, prior to the invocation, in a separate operation. Then at this point in the ritual, the Magician accumulates the energy in his Body of Light, and directs it toward the sigil, maybe by tracing it with the dagger or finger, so that the energy flows from the operator into the sigil. The sigil being the first part of the link, the concentrated will and consecrated symbol, and the planetary energy being the distribution part of the link, to set it's current in motion. To me it seems the sigil might have better aim and less likely of dissipation or ambiguous or unexpected results than words. Of course the will, sigil, and planetary energy would need to created/selected with the correct correspondences for the work. In the event a spirit is evoked, it could rather be told to charge the sigil with the planetary energy, I would expect it would know what to do from there. Another experiment to try perhaps.
Another idea while learning the rituals is, why not ask the spirits if it was done right? They should be able to tell precisely and instruct the operator. This at the very least, as there are other great secrets they will tell that are not written in any books or internets.

I like your thinking Student2012..
you are willing to "test" theory and you recognize that the spirits are willing to help us.. Thus that is why they came when you called.
I ask the spirits and my holy guardian angel many things.. I recently found my HGA and the relationship has made me practically invincible. I can do anything.. But I lack certain things I rather not say.. But with his help.. Things take time to develop.. Thus all of us can be stronger than the universe.. and I dont mean to sound like Conan the Barbarian or He-Man or something. but it's true.
Invoke the planet you want student2012 and ask him if you did it right.. Sometimes they tell you anyway..
One time I was in a group working. and the spirit came.. and he Laughed at all of us.. I mean he cracked the hell up. I thought we called up Eddie Murphy or something. He still answered our request.. But he said this.. and I remember word for word.
"I've been living since the dawn of creation, and that was poorly done. Next time when i am called for service learn your enochian pronunciations. Stop laughing during ritual and Show some respect... Ok, Ok, I'll do what you ask.."
So, that was an example of sometimes you just know if youre doing it right..
Liber 777 and Liber 776 1/2 are good charts to reference to.. if you follow those charts in the books mentioned above.. you will do the ritual right..
And Do the ritual with feeling.. with all you got.. with Gravitas, and Authority.. and you will reach your goal.

Yes King Solomon, as it is written, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear" but nowhere it says the teacher must be another human...
My work with planets has more been with the energy, Mars energy dropping down into the circle like a thick heavy column, Jupiter flowing massive rivers of energy through the hexagram, and Saturn with its effects subtle during the ritual but accumulating to a cresendo hours and days after. Soon I will experiment with direct mental and psychic connections with those intelligences to ask such questions. In the past it has been difficult, when the link is established, to maintain my wits in the heavy trance and astral maelstrom, to ask for a sigil or name, or even be coherent during the conversation. I guess thats one reason why we train the Will, to avoid being slapped about like a rag doll by these intelligences, enslaved, feasted on, or worse. I definitely feel their eternal omniscience, looking through me 'as I were naked in the garden of God', knowing more about this incarnation than I know myself, they seem infinitely intelligent. I can sense them pause and inspect the astral records, and shifting currents in the light 'above' related to my light reflecting emergence into matter. But so far I don't think the conversations were with planetary genius. I don't yet know enough about HGA, but from what I do know, it is unlikely any of my conversations were with HGA. I also have not done group work, but I really want to. Unfortunately I don't know any other Thelema practitioners nearby who I can work with. I do know some 'gurus' and such around, but they are off on some weird systems that seem more interested in forming a cult than spiritual advancement.

93,
Here are some details on a recent invocation of Saturn followed by the assumption of the godform Nephthys. The more I look around the more I see so many variations on Liber O. The one I have been using is also based on it. At its core, Liber O is the engine. The objective was to see what happens when combining a planetary invocation followed by a the assumption of a corresponding godform. The other purpose was to purify and consecrate some sacraments related to Saturn. Other items are on the altar are for offerings or are magickal objects which correspond to the planet and get charged up during the ritual. Also are 2 pillar candles, Atu 21, cup, seal of Saturn on a notecard, hieroglyph for Nephthys, a drawing of the godform. Also was a jar of 'moon water' which is distilled water I consecrated for magickal use during an invocation of Luna for use in subsequent operations requiring water. Here is a diagram of the altar.

Let the Divine Light Rays,
Of the Aeon of Horus,

15.1. Extinguish black candle, crimson candle
15.2. "I declare this sacred temple of art is closed." - Cast the salt into a river flowing toward Saturn.
- Burn the sigils and heiroglyphs, casting ashes to the wind.
A few notable effects include the fading away of the 4 hexagrams, with only the Saturn facing one left, while a thick heavy column of light rotated clockwise about the circle, as if I were inside a tornado of light, but it was moving slow and steady and thick. During the godform portion breaks appeared in the light and I see glimpses of a city outside the circle. For a moment when I had fully formed the godform, I was in the city, standing on a precipice in the assumed position. A strange but beautiful music played (I have heard music before after a Saturn work). The body of light seemed to be drawing or attracting bits of light to the central column of the godform, lke sparks magnetically attracted to a pole. There was an awful lot of energy 'shining' out of the altar after the hexagrams were completed. All the elements had the glow they usually do. For quite a while after it felt like I was still carrying around an 'astral ankh' in my right hand. Some technical errors I made were to not consecrate and purify the sigil and hieroglyph notecards. Probably some others too I don't know about yet, such as some of the correspondences I was not able to confirm with 777. Otherwise from an experimental perspective the operation went mostly as intended, with some interesting results.

I didn't want to start a new thread on this so I figure I might ask a planet question on this one...
I have been very 'Mars Heavy' as of late. It is quite true, make sure its what you want, because Mars will surely bring it. First time I performed a Mars invocation parts of my brain lit up that I didn't know I had, but I didn't stroke out but my head went numb and felt like a balloon ready to pop. Its easy to get hooked on Mars. My question is, to equilibriate, can I banish Mars and invoke Venus? Thanks as always for any tips.
And another question about ARARITA. According to my research, it is the Notaricon expressing the planets : "Achad Rayshethoh, Achad Resh Yechidathoh, Temurathon Achad."
My questions here are, what is the proper pronounciation, and is there a benift to vibrating the full expression while charging Hexagrams...I wont go into what happened to me when I did...but it was different than the Notaricon...thanks again.

Don't banish Mars (or any other undesirable energy). That just gives it unconscious presence, and the unconscious always wins. Instead, just invoke its opposite. Depending on circumstances, this could be Venus or Jupiter.
"And another question about ARARITA. According to my research, it is the Notaricon expressing the planets : "Achad Rayshethoh, Achad Resh Yechidathoh, Temurathon Achad.""
Close: Echad rosh achedutho rosh y'cheudutho t’muratho echad.
"My questions here are, what is the proper pronounciation"
See above.
"and is there a benift to vibrating the full expression while charging Hexagrams"
We teach that this is the correct (both originally intended, and most efficacious) method.

Thank You Jim, that lines up with my intuition, for what its worth. And thanks for clarifying the correct pronounciation for ARARITA. I got the initial interpretation from Levi. I look forward to using the 'upgrade' you have provided. Is there ever an instance where I would want to banish a specific planet? All the banishing I have done is with LBRP, and all the planetary work has been invoking. I can't think of when I might need to banish a planet, aside from my initial assertion which was incorrect.
RifRaf, the godform, is hard to put a timebox on, for me anway. I swear I could do the Work and godforms full time and be happy as can be in this spacesuit. I did not predetermine a time, but let the results run their course. I find that these godforms are 'sticky', meaning I find myself morphing into them long after the ritual, either in astral form and a few times a personality shift associated with it, all quite random.
