    The Brotherhood of Light is not a very good source of authentic information on Qabalah. So the first thing I'd recommend is... ignore anything Elbert wrote on that particular topic.

    oh, forgot, also they claim to be connected with this secret brotherhood of really high magicians that have been around since egypt also saying eliphas levi as being apart of it, and was the first to put the teachings into righting, which when AC read about him and connection of some secret ancient order he dived into GD and later claimed to be the reincarnation of eliphas levi, but that part i got from wikipedia.

    Everyone threw in Levi's name if they could. Levi was god. I don't think most people today generally realize how large one person could be on the European occult landscape.

    Just highlighting the similarity. Blavatsky's influence is equally as ubiquitous.

    I did want to comment one more point in general about what Crowley did-or-did-not use.

    The phrase we all know is "the method of science, the goal of religion". Crowley's creation did require historical accuracy, rather the "truth" of his creation was intended only to be judged in the experience of the consumption of the whole.

    It's a heavy meal with multiple courses, and it borrows flavors from a variety of cultures to create a new and intriguing dishes.

    One may not judge the accuracy of Thelema through historical analysis; one may only judge its claims through personal experience with the system as it was designed.

    It is a point asserted quite frequently and all too often ignored.

    Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

    Well, not connected too much with your post, which is interesting and I respect your words. some Hermetic Broterhood of Luxor materials are interesting for me. for example For example parts from the material called The Key.

    "Yes, I repeat this profecy, The Churches and Chapels will fall with a terrible
    crash, and be destroyed. But from their ashes, Phoenix-like,
    shallo arise a new Religion, whose shining Motto will be;
    Veritas Excelsior, Truth Above. This era shall proclaim the
    rights of man.
    <snip>
    Science and Religion will become blended, spiritual intercourse an acknowledged fact..."

    Love is the law, love under will.

    That's a theme you can find in many places.

    For instance, the plot of Asimov's "Foundation" series consisted of two schools of knowledge: one exoteric and one esoteric. Both had equal command over their given technologies, each appearing "magic" to the other.

    It was only when these two schools of knowledge were reunited did humanity truly grow to a knew level of understanding the universe.

    I believe that I can say with relative certainty that we are but 100 years from that very occurrence within the Western world.

    How quickly it catches on is another discussion...
