Feeling drained/ more tired than usual recently
-
Hi all
Long time no see heruraha .
Just been busy reading my student syllabus in prep. for exam and working full time. And doing LBRP as practice with invoking hexagram for a LAM invoking and meditation.
I have been feeling far more drained and tired than usual the past week or two and it roughly corresponds to when I started practising my rituals more often though of course could be coincidence?
What do you think?
What I did a few times and I am wondering if it makes any difference is at times after I have made my circle after banishing I wont stay in it I will leave it to go to the bathroom or what have you. Is this bad?
The other thing I did one night after LBRP and invoking lam i wasn't getting a great response and wasn't able to relax enough in my circle to bring on the necessary astral state. So i figured I would leave the circle open all night and go to bed and maybe something would happen in dreams when i was more relaxed.
Then in the morning I closed the circle with the banishing.
Is this a no no?
Do you think none of this has any relation to my being drained?
thanks so much.. -
IMHO:
First of all, yeah, any increased activity (magical or otherwise) will end up fatiguing you after awhile. Working full time, by itself, does it to me
Secondly: Just a thought: I find that my energy level PLUMMETS when I consistently orgasm too much over a period of time; that energy release just completely wipes me out. If you are orgasming consistently (whether with another person or alone), that may be a part of it, and I recommend experimenting and seeing if you get more energy by not engaging in sexual activity for, say, a week.
(I phrased this as a thought and not a question so you didn't have to say anything personal).Edit: I have VERY little experience with anything resembling "invoking," but virtually every source on the subject is firmly against leaving circles unclosed and what have you; it's leaving a door open and not monitoring what passes through it, and I recommend against it (FWIW )

yeah in hindsight it was a very stupid thing to do.
and i have done it a few times the past month.
so i think its a combination of that (probably at least in a tiny amnt there could be some little energy bits clinging to me)
and also the sexual thing is true. i am generally celibate.
but recently i was doing some VIII workings
and on top of that it is very hot and im working more
so i think its all of the above.
but the magical thing i didnt want to make any mistakes o if people think thats a bad idea that was mainly what i was worried about from a safety standpoint too.
if anyone has any ideas or comments too please feel free to post here
thanks ash!

I've been perusing Crowley's "Magick in Theory and Practice," and among the first things he states is
"Cleanliness is next to Godliness, and had better come first!"
I've had much of the same problem with my practice. It has to do with the dissipation of energy. Especially with VIII work, one has to be careful regarding one's intent, frame of mind, and other such considerations. Also, even such simple rituals as the LBRP are dependent on a certain "cleanliness of consciousness" in order to be succesful. In order to do the ritual is not enough. One needs concentration, attention to detail, and undivided intent.
I mention all this only because I've had much the same problem myself recently. I noticed that I wasn't paying proper intention to the little things, the preparation of the area, my frame of mind, my stresses and mental flow...and I found that after taking care of these "little things," my original need to Banish quite disappeared.
