Most interesting thing seen during a ritual

On several occasions the lights in my cabin have shuddered at the exact end of the LBRP. Certain other phenomena exist in the forest where I live, but I prefer to mind my own business when it comes to the spirit world.
Unless I have some specific reason to deal with them, I try to keep my space free of all entities and spirit. The canyon where I live has a rather dark history, so it's been important as of late to maintain psychic cleanliness.
A spooky story:
A friend of mine and I were passing through Utah once, late in the night and awash in wilderness. We came upon the Piyute Reservation and decided to camp by a half-frozen lake beneath the mountains. There was nobody for miles in every direction, just the occasional light by the highway in the distance. The lake was vast, and a full moon was half-obscured by clouds over it. Creepy scene indeed.
So we part and set about gathering firewood. Several strange and very ominous bucks stared at us from the bushes, as we set up camp by the edge of the lake. Our cats, who usually danced about after a long day in the car, refused to leave its confines. I had a really bad feeling, but we were tired and wanted rest, so we huddled down next to the fire. As soon as it started dying down we were immediately enveloped by a wave of bad energy. I had stark, vivid visions of goblin-like creatures threatening me with maelevolence. We took our cue, and loaded up the car. Before leaving I pronouned my apologies to the spirits of the lake, and made clear the purity of our intent.
Later, we discovered that entire tribes had been massacred at that very lake during the western expansion.

Cats are sensitive, aren't they? Once I was reading a copy of Morals and Dogma that seemed to have it's own little guardian attached. I started getting an ominous, somebody is watching you, vibe. My wife awoke from her sleep in the other room to the sight of a specter coming in the window and screamed.
The cat would not come into the bedroom until I finally came to my senses and did a full banishing 2 days later.

Oh, yes! My last cats were little spirit-ometers.
Whenever anything weird was around they would get very spaced out, and have this other-worldy look in their eyes. Very handy to have around. And they were black cats; I think there's a reason black cats have a magical reputation.
Unfortunately both of them were abducted/killed in the recent months.

Cats react to attention as if it is sunlight. (Take that one observation into your relationship with your cat, and see if it doesn't explain a few hundred things.)
Cats detect spirits of all kinds. They hang around talismans, I Ching coins, and dirty underwear with approximately the same level of dedication. And they definitely notice things that are moving in a room!

Cool stories. Here's one of mine. One time 3 friends and myself were all walking through a dark forest close to midnight. We had just done a ritual that my friend had pulled from the Necronomicon ( i KNOW, we were young and actually believed in the mad arab). So we are walking deep into the forest and I'm hanging back with one friend chatting. I look up ahead and see not 2 but three people. I say to my friend, "Who's up there with C and J?" My friend says, "Who? I don't see anyone." I start to run towards them and as i do this entity turns around and looks at me. I go, "Stop! Who is that?!" My friend goes, "Oh, he let you see him huh." I walk up to this entity and it looked like smoky plasma. I stared into its face and it made a big smile, to which I didnt respond. I DID respond though when it changed its appearance and made itself look just like me; thats when I stepped back and moved away slowly.
Nor ritual involved on this one, but maybe worth mentioning:
Another time my younger brother and I went out into a baseball field near midnight because he wanted to experiment with salvia. I was his sitter and didn't use it but watched him as he inhaled. Pretty soon he started talking, saying, "They're cooooooming" I looked to my right and saw what looked like two candles floating EYE distance apart, moving towards us through the trees. I thought, "WTF, How am I seeing this and he's the one tripping." A tall shadow being stepped from the end of the trees into plain view on the baseball diamond. It had a bulbous head and large glowing red eyes with light that streamed off of them as if i was squinting. My brother says, "They took control of my legs." and he can't move.
So this being is moving towards, hovering across the ground actually at a nice slow pace and I pick my brother up and start dragging him backwards across the diamond as I yell at this being to stop. It's not responding so, me being a christian at the time I yell, "I command you in the name of jesus!" and it stops..but only for about 10 seconds. FINALLY, I get to my car and shove my limp brother inside and tear away feeling completely full of fear not knowing wtf just happened.
cool stories people!

I could fill a book on this one - which I guess I have via the diary. Anyway here are a few of the more common/notable things:
'Critters' lurking about outside the Circle during the ritual.
Visions past the Column of other worlds through the 'mist'.
Candles snuffing for no reason - no breezes or defective candles.
Visions that have a similar feel to memories, of myself doing the ritual in another time and place, not during this incarnation though.
Encountering angry guardians/watchers upon approaching certain Gates.
The first conversation with a Spirit was pretty freaky.
Performing a ritual during a lucid dream, discovered my Astral voice and lots of other arcana.
One time when the tablets opened everything I looked at seemed as if it was made with glowing Enochian script.
A cluster of mushrooms (not the good kind though) grew at the base of a tree stump I was using as an altar during a Solstice ritual.
During a certain candle meditation I looked up and saw my shade sitting across the table completing a symmetry arrangement, which was unexpected. -

Firstly, I need to say that one ought not dabble in enochian magick unless they are prepared for their lives to go upside down. I had just taken my first degree in the OTO and some of the initiates and myself wanted to trying scrying the 30th Aethyr. We wen to the deputy body master's house where an altar with lamens had been set up and their was a crystal ball neatly placed in the center. I banished by star ruby and volunteered to be the first "seerer." Two people Aumed while the other two chanted the letters from the table of practice. I became aware that we were not alone suddenly and saw HUGE shadows looking into the windows of the house. I started to say the call of the 30th Aethyr, "Madariatza das perifa TEX.." Suddenly the room lit up in a brilliant light which focused into a beam in the center of my forehead. We each heard speaking and murmuring in the Enochian tongue and all heard the words "not ready" in english. We recorded our visions, and after the final banishing the shadows moved away from the windows.
I have never had so much phenomena occur during a ritual. We were all amateurs and had amateur visions more or less a flash in the pan. What happened karmically is hard to describe: a magician's best friend committed suicide, my recent exgf had an abortion of my child (by the way they said they would need to have a sacrafice so that I "would not by lost"), another magician had a roommate who was as perceptive as a brick complain of scary angels in his room, and the deputy body master gradually lost his grip on reality.

Well TheSilent1, I would recommend people not 'dabble' with any magick, and Enochian is indeed very potent. Other than using the elemental tablets for regular rituals, my policy has been to defer Enoochian until after K&C, much as is recommended for Goetia. It is very potent, and without fortification I could see how one could easily become a tasty snack for the universe.

"Eh, I don't know about that one. Cat's have very strong sense's, a lot stronger than human beings ("cats' hearing range (in Hz) is 45 to 64,000, compared to 64-23,000 in humans. This means that cats can hear sounds we can't hear on both ends of the spectrum, particularly the higher end" and "A domestic cat's sense of smell is about fourteen times as strong as a human's."), same goes for dogs. I believe they are just reacting to stuff we can't hear/smell/see but it isn't anything "paranormal". My dogs will sit in corners of the room after Rituals in places they never goto (under the couch like he is hiding, running to rooms far away, barking, etc) I chalk it up to incense irritation or due to my "enthusiastic behavior" while doing Invocations and Evocations which probably looks, to them, as if I am mad about something."
This seems an exceedingly mechanistic view for a ceremonial magician, I'm surprised you perform rituals at all.

Important word in your point is "dabble," I have actually had a great deal of success in goetia and scrying the Tablets recently. Though I do not claim K&C, doing that particular type of work opened me up to deeper levels of understanding of my HGA as well as giving me more drive to strengthen the link. One should not dabble most of all with their K&C, that will has more adverse effects than anything else. Think about the work of the Neophyte: the ability to rise to any sphere and become god therein, that would also apply to works of evocation as well. If the magician knows how to and becomes the god of ANY sphere the ALL spirits of the -particular sphere of working will be at his will and not the other way around.
It is not unusual for Probationers to work with the Tablets or practice Goetia, even if just to understand how the tools work so that when need arises they may be implemented correctly. The folly exists with those individuals who become obsessed with the Siddhis and lose sight of the source.

Too much...without any ritual...
Worst/best was getting a fireball in the face...ouch
I played around with a very colourful portal aswell for while
Pinging and banging sounds in the walls of wherever I go.
I got so scared of them once that I went into a church to see if they'd stop and the walls around me were cracking like nobodies business! I would imagine an extremely white light all around me with immense concentration to stop them...but I could only hold that concentration for a few seconds...when I would burn out they would come back louder.Lots more.

I've been following this thread. It's a cool topic and I just wish I had something interesting to add myself.
But I am curious why it seems that "spooky" stuff seems to come through much more easily than positive vibes. Anyone want to chime in on that?
Is it the matter of the ego getting scared by anything at all, and interpreting it automatically as unpleasant, or do genuinely negative energies lie closer to our waking reality than positive ones? (for example, people will often spot eery shadow people etc. but not comforting beings of light) On a related note, are most of these examples of qlippoth?

recently I have been doing the Bornless one with some dramatic results, requests answered etc. almost immediately. SOme of the stranger phenomenon involved a very bad incident I won't get into but afterwards I continued to do the Bornless One as a form of self-exorcism. One day I came out of the temple and was writing my entry when I heard a crash from the kitchen. I went in and my room mate was spraying bug spray in the window at HUNDRED's of flies that came out of nowhere by her words. A day or two later, a water line busted, not at the seam, but the tubing itself and flooded my neighbours bedroom, goody for them because they are nosy old folks who spread a lot of rumours about someone I care about so more to them I say... LOL. All of this culminated in a vision of the Rosycross at a festival during the climax of the main ritual. I had been seeing flashes of it before, but during the main ritual it was omnipresent and for the rest of the night as well. The theme of the festival and the ritual? K&C of the HGA.
