How To Properly Participate In This Project
-
The purpose of these threads is for us to share the insights we get from our meditations. You can share daily or you can share after you've worked with a card for a couple of days.
You don't have to share all of your insights either, just what you feel is worth sharing with everyone.
Do the meditations as outlined in the instructions and then post whatever you feel is provocative, insightful, helpful, interesting etc.
To keep the project as organic as possible, we request that you limit what you share to just YOUR insights from YOUR meditations.
Please do not share definitions from other authors, books, websites, etc.
Thanks in advance!
And remember to have fun!!

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
To answer some questions that came to me off-line, I wanted to say a few words about the method that is taught in Liber Theta. IMVHO the method is far more important than the content.
The method of the book relies on three things:
(1) a small, compact amount of data - intentionally very limited - combined with
(2) the visual image of the Tarot card itself and
(3) the contents of the subconsciousness of the individual aspirant. It both seeds subconsciousness, and harvests subconsciousness.
Patterns are built up on the Trumps - things one could never read in a book, because they don't fit within the limitations of written language. These patterns build and combine in the Minors (forming relationships, or patterns of association - partly in ways that can be consciously understood and articulated, and partly in ways that are too subtle for that), and then in an even more complex way in the Court Cards.
The key to really understanding this is the silent seeding and farming in subconsciousness.

Thanks for clarifying that Jim. And for your support Much appreciated.

Thank you so much Jim!

"Which sounds easier than it is, for some of us even more then for the others ... For me its been an amazing experience so far, and the Fool... has shaken my world yesterday!
Its very hard for me to get beyond words, and behind intellect... but it does feel good (albeit on occasions quite shaky!)
Thank you so much for all the support!!! -
If I may presume to add an outsider/user perspective, I think there's a simple formula that made the Meditation of the day a success:
- The daily posts keep us on track. I probably would't have made it through Liber LXV as slowly and thoughtfully on my own.
- The threads aren't overly-intellectual, but there are people like Jim there to help answer questions and help us with short, direct answers and hints when we're "almost there"
In short, it's only the things that support the core method without interfering.

Unless, of course, you want me to post more of the academic research as well as excerpt from the theses
" Comparative analyze of the experimental effects of Jim Eshelman's tarot method , as presented in work Liber T, in the context of contemporary scientific and alternative approaches to Tarot studies." -

Thanks for the input Av.
I drew a lot of inspiration from the Meditation of the Day and was hoping to model this project after it.
As you can see, we're creating this as we go and it's beginning to take on a workable form so if there is anything you'd like to add in that you feel would make a difference then by all means let us know.

Ok peeps. Let's get this thread open for questions, suggestions about participating in the project so we don't get off track.

You are, of course, at liberty to use your own postings in whatever alternate form you wish; and the visual descriptions of the Tarot you mention are very old and in the public domain.
But hey, I'm not sure what that has to do with the present topic of How to Properly Participate in This Project. Let's please keep threads on their original topic, especially when they are the key threads that define a section of the forum.

Thanks Jim!

Nothing, just posted the idea in the thread for random talk , connected to the thread; will edit.

I got a bit sidetracked and am now very much behind everyone else on this project. Just starting on the Emperor when everyone is moving to the Wheel of Fortune. I just wanted to say I appreciate everyones input and love to read your insights on each post.

It's totally cool Piexlina
Thanks for letting us know where you're at in the project.
Just pick up where you left off and share what you've got so far.
Your contribution is always welcome and wherever you are is where you need to be

What about those who have arrived late to the project? Should we jump-in at the current card or start from the beginning?
-
Hi Michael!
I suggest starting from the beginning. If you'd like to add an insight you have about a particular card we happen to be working on or have already worked on then you are welcome to do so. But for your own personal practices, starting from the beginning would be the best way to participate and get the most out of it.
