    Question,

Automatic rigidity in Pranayama. Identifying signs.

I've built up to easily being able to do an hour of 10/20, 15/30, and 15/15/15 (last is the best). 20/40 I can do but haven't pushed to a full hour because I'll get out of breath and have to stop, so needs more practice before I can keep pushing at it. I've been working at pranayama for much of 2011. Stopped for a bit to boost my physical health considerably by eating right and developing a serious exercise routine with a personal trainer. This helped immensely and continued to fulfill the physical purification requirements of 1=10, pushing them into physical development instead of just health equilibrium.

Perspiration usually starts a good 5-10 minutes in on anything heavier than 10/20 pranayama. Yet automatic rigidity continues to elude me.

However, oddly enough, I DID experience what I would call "automatic rigidity" while doing... asana. Extremely rigid god asana outside with a full saucer on my head. Pushed it heavy all the way to the end of the hour, and when I broke through that final "AUUUGHHH" resistance, my field of vision went sky-blue and my body went, well, automatically rigid. All pain gone, all effort gone, it just locked. Experience was very pleasurable and refreshing. Only experienced it once. Haven't got there in Dragon, only God.

Any pointers / tips on this? 😀

    That's quite common 😀

Pranayama isn't the real cause. The real cause is a low level of kundalini release through the system. The classics document pranayama producing this - and it's readily observable with persistence in asana. (Rarely does it require hitting the "one hour home stretch" level, in my experience, but YMMV.)

    Yes. Very good.

"Only experienced it once. Haven't got there in Dragon, only God."

It doesn't matter. You only need one asana, and it's whatever one works for you.

Excellent, thank you. So, at which point, would you say this qualifies for fulfilling the Liber E requirements in 2=9? 😄
