    Do not deal with them?

I surmise it would best to seek out a reliable source as opposed to dealing with one of questionable allegiance.

Or are you more asking how one differentiates between a reliable 'spirit guide' and a spirit of malicious intent?

    Know thyself.

If you're looking for an answer that suits the needs your lower self, you're much more vulnerable to being misled. If you know and account for all those little personality issues, then you're less at the mercy of them when you get info from people or spirits. Without that unconscious agenda, your "truth sense" improves.

Me neither, but I think that I should be allowed to vote since they also interfere with my life. πŸ˜„

Well, in this respect I believe that it is not very different from dealing with people (especially people with the right resources to be manipulative). We must be careful of what we hear and what we want to hear.

But going further than this, as far as I understand the very nature of the astral plane can be used as a tool to coerce the spirit to speak the truth. It occurred to me today that, since symbols and rituals have such power over or own conscience, it has even greater power over beings that are pure conscience.

I believe that I, at least, understand intellectually why symbols and rituals have power over spirits. On the other hand, I have no experience of how this tool should be wielded. Golden Dawn texts and Liber O say that the proper pentagram will have a perceptive effect over the spirit, but how much should we trust these results? Are they fail proof? Stronger beings need stronger rituals to be effected?

Well, thinking of it, my question almost boils down to β€œhow much should I pray before Lucifer gets pissed and go away?”

Exporting democracy is what it is called nowadays, not interfering, c'mon.

I do not think there is anything fail proof.

From a practical standpoint, a being of 'pure Air' would undoubtedly be banished by a Water pentagram.
Although a better method may be to invoke whomever that entity serves, as leverage, to attain the information you desire.
My hypothesis would be that the Universe would provide what ever information you might need.
With my emphasis being on why I am asking the question and personal motives as opposed to manipulation of the entity..

This is all conjecture, as I do not have much experience with controlling spirits.
As I stated earlier, my stance has been to avoid dealing with such entities.

Exercise is an important part of yoga and magick.

I find it hard to meditate properly at night unless I've ridden the bike five to ten miles during the day.

For some reason, I am extremely turned off by "regular", "useless" exercise. By useless and regular, I mean not getting any work done during exercise. Whenever I ride the bike, it's usually to go to the store for a few groceries or to a friend's or something. I've actually stopped using gas-powered rides for the past six months, but sometimes I ride with my friends or family to gatherings and whatnot.

Just sitting/squatting/laying on the floor and repetitively my arms/legs/abdomen seems insane to me for some reason. I guess it's because I always have wood to chop, always can find some kind of work to do around or outside the house. The "useless" kind of exercise reminds me of the "break away" from Nature that man took at the beginning of the 1980's, where he moves around for some reason to electronic music and doesn't really know why.

To tell you the truth, some of the most "athletic" people who do nothing but exercise die young, and most are not fit to do actual work-work. The muscles need to be toned to every aspect, and repetitive, "useless" exercise does not do this, no matter how you try to move. It's almost a spiritual thing. Definitely in higher patterns of creation to utilize your body energy to help yourself or others with real work. Everyone's got elderly people living somewhere near them. They've always got something they can't do on their own, and they usually throw you a few bucks when you help them out, so you benefit both ways. πŸ˜„

I feel like I'm fist-pumping for this book, third mention in fourty some minutes, but the Crystal Connection has this to say about contact with entities:

Starting at Pg 19 paragraph 4 line 2 word 3

    1. percieved truths are many times limited in relation to the more encompassing higher dimension octaves of these truths

    2. there are margins of error related to the imperpections of consciousness

    3. balanced integration of higher communication levels is necessary before the information is recieved in a clear context; and

    4. all paradigms of knowledge are open ended as so is all information recieved from interdimensional communication

Previously, which I'm adding later, on the same page, a paragraph above, three lines above, starting at the seventh word from the left (moving right) it says

It is the inalienable right of each individual to accept or reject any or all aspects of any given interdimensionally-derived information.

    End trancemission.

"I am the warrior Lord of the Forties: the Eighties cower before me, & are abased."

The forties is when Aleister came to some of his greatest realizations, from what I understand -- It was also the decade when the most powerful sacrament of Nuit was first consumed by a human being. The sacrament that would later cause social evolution by the power of at least hundreds of years.
