Shadow Self

Well, actually, I'm a long time lurker, and sometimes poster here. It took me a while to get around to introducing myself here, but, well here I am.
I've been practicing Thelema since 2008. I do practice Thelemic rituals, mostly the Star Ruby and Libre Samekh, although I have done other ones, including the Resh on occasion. I keep a magical diary, but I am rather lax about it.
I only recently got over a struggle with myself over joining Thelemic orders and wondering if that is part of my true will or not.I'm also a former Atheist. I believe that experience trumps the authority of someone else, consensus, or what ever other mass delusions people are going by these days. Thus I am a believer in the importance of the subjective universe and magick.
I picked the board name Shadow Self because of this idea of a shadow personality, and integrating ones shadow.

How do you like my new Avatar? Since Los keeps going on about goblins, I thought I would use a goblin avatar from a game I'm currently working on now.

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law
Getting to know our shadow we can get on with growth. Nurturing the feeling of acceptance helps a lot. The realization that nothing is "wrong" with oneself, rather that there might be parts of oneself that are immature, thus resulting in an imbalanced personality, can help create a mind-set of self-acceptance and love for oneself. In that restful equanimity accompanied by a complete absence of fear we can witness and thus integrate whatever parts of our personality we have suppressed. We become more whole as individuals.
Love is the Law, Love under Will
