2014 Tarot Project
-
I have to say that this has been the best way I've experienced of learning the tarot. I only got part-way through the trumps last time. The difference in the depth and feel of my reaction when I look at the ones I've meditated on vs. the ones I haven't meditated on, is profound.
It's also really cool to be able to meditate on a card, and then compare notes. You get objective insights, and then you can see that other people got similar insights. It really helps you learn to trust your meditative impressions.
-
I just think it's awesome, and I'm ready to make another go at it. Always something new - a new facet, a new insight.
My goal is to be more consistent with it this time through.
I was overconfident with the Trumps and didn't do much with them last time since I'd devoted long periods of study to them in the past. But as we went, I really regretted that lack of effort.
Anyway, yeah, my goal is to participate all the way through and get the full effect.

My account doesn't appear to be authorized to view the archive. Anyone else having this problem? Or is it just something weird with my account?

Yep

Thanks. Try it now.

Angel, welcome aboard!
Thanks for sharing what you all want to get out of participating in the project.
When I was thinking about what I wanted to get out of the project this time I looked back at the first run and realized I cut some corners, didn't really give it my all and I kinda feel like I cheated myself out getting the most I could possibly get . So I'm taking on the second run with more rigor do the program the way it's meant to be done. I'm also looking to engrain the language of tarot so I can read the cards fluently.
This is going to be fun. I am looking forward to what we're all going to create the huge contribution it's going to be to the community here.

Good one.
Yeah I had the same problem I just didn't bring it up. I'll go through and review the archives so I'm prepared for this next time around.

Likewise. There seems to also be an inherent Power in the cards that operates well with individual consciousness. I've also been wanting to undertake a good, thorough study of the Crowley deck and the Book of Thoth, and 'twould be well to do it with like-minded peers. There's a lot to be said for the "comparing notes" thing.

Yep, ready to go. Any ideas on the format this time through? I'm going to peruse the last project in the next couple of days as a warm-up and dust off my copy of "The Book of Thoth."
I've been devoting a lot of study to the I Ching as well, so one of my personal focuses is to study how Crowley correlated the I Ching with the Tarot. The I Ching is a great daily meditation book as well, I've discovered.
At any rate, I'm excited for the project to begin.
Edit: Okay, scratch some of that. Now that the old thread is open I see the format and instructions, etc.
So I read the instructions. Is one limited to fifteen minutes, or can one extend that length of time beyond that/combine the Tarot meditation with Asana/etc? Is the process as described in the instructions mandatory or open for experimentation/alteration? (I see how if we are trying to compare and compile notes on a collective meditation project it would be best to establish the same process for everybody's meditation....just wondering.)

I agree however if there are certain practices you already have in place that you think will support you in getting the most out of the meditations then I encourage you to keep them and integrate them with the instructions in a way that would work best for you. Do your best to stay as true to the instructions as possible while giving yourself some room to experiment.

Just to confirm - before we start:
We are going one card a day, beginning with ATU 0 , going through all the major Arcana, then through the Minor Arcana, and then the Court Cards --- is this correct?
-
That's correct
-
One a day? Not three days each like before?
-
Oh you know what I missed that Jim.
Thanks for catching that.
3 days per card. Majors -> Minors -> Courts.

I actually think I'd like to give this a go. Trust me to sign up at the very last minute....
Is the plan to do 1 card every three days move to another and then have one day a week off (in this case monday) or is it to do one card three times a week?
