    93 All,

Is anyone else preparing to celebrate the Thelemic Holy season ala our dear friend Mr. Eshelman's link?

    helema.org/home/thelemic_holy_season.html

    My question is this.
I should know better by now but....
"The Invocation of Horus (The Supreme Ritual)"

    Is this the version from:
    A) The Bornless Ritual of the Goetia
    B) The Version that Ouarda dictated to Crowley In Cairo
    C) The version from Liber Samekh?

My guess would be B. but you can never be too sure. πŸ˜‰

The discussion of it is right there in Equinox of the Gods, I think. Probably in Confessions, too.

I've looked at the exact places in both texts where the Supreme Ritual is discussed, and neither mention anything about Ouarda 'editing' anything. It is only mentioned that it is revealed to or dictated by her.
What do you mean by 'edited it mercilessly'? Perhaps I am misunderstanding you.

I have the New Falcon Edition of The EOTG, and at the top of page 71 is says ""The revealing of the Ritual (by W. the Seer) consisted chiefly in a prohibition of all formulae hitherto used, as will be seen from the text written below."

And on page 77 there is a section entitled "INVOCATION OF HORUS ACCORDING TO THE DIVINE VISION OF W., THE SEER. To be performed before a window open to the E. or N. without incense. The room to be filled with jewels, but only diamonds to be worn. A sword, unconsecrated, 44 pearl beads to be told. Stand. Bright daylight at 12:30 noon. Lock doors. White robes. Bare feet. Be very loud. Saturday. Use the sign of Apophis and Typhon. The above is W.'s answer to various questions posed by P. Preliminary. Banish. L.B.R. Pentagram L.B.R. Hexagram. Flaming Sword. Abrahadabra, Invoke. As before (These are P.'s ideas for the ritual. W. replied, "Omit")"

        I hope this helps.

I see. But how does this qualify as editing? I always assumed W.'s comments and corrections were not her own, but rather intentionally channeled and dictated through her - part of the original message itself.

Hold on, are you saying that the Invocation of Horus received in Cairo was a new version/edit of the Bornless Ritual? That would explain my misunderstanding.

These are her modifications of the ritual that led to the whole affair - not her corrections to Liber Legis three weeks later. I'd like to think you're right that she was under guidance, but all we really know is that she read the ritual Crowley wrote and made changes.

I've just reread it and realise my error. I thought the entire ritual was dictated to Crowley by the seer; thus when you said that she 'edited' it, I assumed you meant that once it was dictated, she again edited it further - which caused my confusion. Now I see that it was Crowley's original ritual, which was then added to/edited by Ouarda (whom I think it is safe to say was under guidance, considered her sudden identification of RHK, etc) as per:

"The revealing of the ritual (by W. the seer) consisted chiefly in a prohibition of all formulae hitherto used, as will be seen from the text printed below."

Clearly I understand the definition of a word! πŸ™„

On March 20, the Invocation of Horus (The Supreme Ritual) may be performed to celebrate the anniversary of the Equinox of the Gods.

                      Here is the ritual:
