Pronunciation / Intentional Mispronunciation
-
Why did Regardie release recordings and print up books with improper pronunciations of words like AGLA?
Just to make a buck?
Can we let this cat out of the bag yet? I would like to know the correct pronunciation to all the major rituals, if it please the court, beginning with the LBRP and the MPR.
Apparently, in the LBRP, we are to vibrate "ATAH GIBOR LE-OLAHM ADONAI" in the North quarter, yet I have read this in no book ever.
What are the correct pronunciations of the other names?
I had been vibrating:Yod Hay Vahv Hay
Ah Doh Nah-Ee
Ay Hay-Ee Ay
Ah Gah Lah Ah / Ah Gee Lay Ah (depending, alternating)Others had told me to vibrate the full "ATAH GIBOR LE-OLAHM ADONAI" before on the PFC-list, but I said, "bah, you're ignoring the symmetry of the 4-syllables in each of the 4 quarters!" and went on and on about intent being the important part of a ritual. I tried vibrating the full thing a few times, but didn't feel / notice anything different and just kind of forgot about it until just now.
For the MPR, I say:
Ay Hay-Ee Ay
Yod Hay Vahv Hay El O Heem
Yod Hay Vahv Hay El O Ah Vah Dahht
Shah Die Ale-(uh)Chai (based on Regardie's pronunciation on mp3)
Ah Doh Nai Hah Aretz -
Awesome! Thank you!
Maybe I'd join a temple if I knew which one to join and had the extra money. I don't make much money for living in NYC.
I'm currently in the BOTA pen pal program, but I'm supplimenting with GD rituals because, well, I almost joined FLO and now sort of wonder what I missed there. I love the BOTA lessons, they just seem awfully slow-going. And I like ritual!
