Abrahadabra

93,
I was wondering when/how the switch from the former ABRAKADABRA to ABRAHADABRA came about?

The spelling ABRAHADABRA appeared in the dictation of Liber Legis. However, it didn't start there - Crowley wrote an essay on number that is reproduced in Equinox 5 in which he worked out the formula of the word. This essay dates from about 1900-1901 (going from memory).
So it is apparently a "Qabalistic recovery" by V.H. Fra. C.L. (aka Crowley), an Adeptus Minor 5=6 of the Order of the Golden Dawn.

With regard to it being a "recovery", I've always liked the idea that the original switch from Abrahadabra to Abrakadabra was nothing more than a clerical error. Written in Hebrew, it wouldn't take much more than a yawn for a transcriber to write a Kaph in place of a Heh.
