The IX° degree?

so i was wondering how other people interpete the 9th degree, not magick in general, which can be a vast subject, but what the 9th degree is, and means? i though am a OTO member, am no where near that level. not to mention it seems to me it is super rarely even given out, and from what i hear is not more of a token given to friends of the master. but whatever the case that is neither here nor there, the question is which did crowley mean or the forefathers of the OTO mean by the meaning of the 9th degree and how its employeed?
i would love to hear your opinions!

A google search can yield the basic idea of what its' about: heterosexual sex magick. The mixing of semen and vaginal fluid during copulation is refered to as Amrita, which is a reference to a nectar that provides everlasting life. Me not belonging to the OTO, and so not having that IX degree, I don't know the specifics how it's employed, but that's the general theory/idea behind the IX degree.

well yes your right but, also i would like to note i believe it was crowley that said you must 1st be a master of magick & meditation before it would be time for one to become a 9th degree, the simple in out and then orally collecting its physical production wouldnt be needed to do that.

Where did he say that? I know he recommended attaining the IX degree OTO to A.'.A.'. initiates for the work of the Adeptus Major who is to attain to the summit of magickal power, but not necessary one must be a master of magick before receiving the IX degree. I'm not all too familiar with OTO literature, so if he said it somewhere, I don't know.

"(Being an outsider,) I REALLY don't think it's that simple. It may be (and also may not be) that the outside image may be thus, but I'd say that mastery of Yoga (or simply super-hyper-mastery of Dhyana) would be needed to handle the situation in a fruitful way. Anyone can in-out-&-drink, but that does not equal the attainment of "the summit of magical power". Just an outsider's oppinion.

I don't know if its related, but there's an interesting tale of sex-magick in the Epic of Gilgamesh where a Enkidu (who is something of a wild-man, or beast you might say) is seduced by Shamat (a scarlet woman, literally a harlot-priestess). Shamat civilizes Enkidu by having intercourse with him over the course of several days and nights.
It might also be of interest to know that in some versions of the epic Enkidu later goes on to forge a homosexual union with Gilgamesh...

I think the term "attaining the IX*" is a little off. The OTO and its degrees are purely on the plane of disks, OTO degrees are not "attained" but given, while the A.'.A.'. grades are "attained". The OTO degrees do not represent spiritual evolution/development.

What's the meaning? Two live things coming together to form a Third Live Thing which transcends both of those two original elements; the Two-in-One. Union on the physical plane as Samadhi is union on the plane of consciousness/the perceptual plane.

Dear Gunner,
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
All I am allowed to say (Because of Oaths), is that the IX* degree is instructional. There is no Initiatory ritual per-se.
It is a Heterosexual magickal formulae that does produce the Amrita, or Elixir of Life. It is also attributed to Binah on the tree of life.
There is however a 'Transmission' that must occur.
This is about all that I can say of the 'Sanctuary of the Gnosis'
Love is the law, love under Will.
