someone in the oto told me that I should personally own a remake copy of the stele of revealing tablet in my altar?

he told me to look in the book Magick without tears.

was he right in what he said?

Theres a problem though.. I am currently trying to make a thelemic altar, in the square of tiphareth, according to my height, But I dont know what the measurements should be or what color should I paint my altar.

And another question strikes me..
runes.. How important are they in magickal workings and usage in my altar?

I'm not clear of the question - Was he suggesting you needed to make your own copy?

Frankly, a purchased copy would be a more authentic rendering.

I agree that if you are pursuing a Thelemic path then you should have your own copy of the Stele. How to acquire that is your own choice (for a long time I used a really beautiful small color plate cut from a book and in a glass frame). I do know someone that makes the only copies I've ever seen that are correct color - I recommend them - but there are many other approaches you could take.

That's not so much a "Thelemic altar" as "one of Aleister Crowley's idea of an altar around 1912." The core idea of all of those descriptions is that all the instruments should be proportionate to each other and to you. There are many different answers to your question.

Traditionally - from the G.D. tradition in particular - the altar is black. However, you will find various recommendations of different things to put on its top surface. (You will also find other recommendations on color.) Black has the advantage that it is neutral and takes well to any colored cloth you want to use for particular workings (in addition to a lot of other symbolism that goes with that color for that particular altar). You can proportionate it to your height by, say, having it reach your naval when you are standing, or you can plan it for specific number symbolism that is important to you. I strongly recommend that it be an upright double cube. If you want number symbolism, an altar made of two 18-inch cubes (meaning, 36" tall) is very practical and has some simply wondrous numerical patterns which I leave for you to discover on your own.

They have no place at all in the Western Mystery Tradition. If you are pursuing a tradition with a Runic current running through it, then you should make sure that all of your implements, designs, symbols, etc. follow the patterns of that tradition instead of the Western Mystery Tradition.

jim, who is that person who makes the correct color of the stele of revealing.

My goal in my personal career of magick is to take in and use what is essential, and discard what is useless. i want to make all the correct actions and procedures to this wonderful art.

So now that you know where i'm coming from. Know that I try.. heh, that is try.. to be a serious student.

Anna-Kria King in Los Angeles. They are either exactly or nearly full size. The colors (known to have faded badly over the years) are restored to the Egyptian pallet of the time. If you are interested in more information, I can (at your request) pass your email address to her or some such thing.

I recently finished building my altar.

It's a bit unconventional from what I've seen before but it works for me.
