Daily Eucharist
-
I could use some tips on putting a daily eucharist into practice. If I'm not mistaken, the Mass of The Phoenix was intended for this purpose. Making even light scratches on the chest every single day, to extract even tiny amounts of blood, seems like it would be a bit impractical. The whole chest area would be covered with little cut marks before long and seems like it could even lead to infection after a prolonged period of time. What am I missing here. What is a good way to do a eucharist ritual on a daily basis?

I did it for 44 days straight without any ill effects to my body. I traced around the symbol, and then went a little deeper for about a 1mm section, in order to extract a drop of blood. I used a different 1mm section each day. No infection, no scar, minimal discomfort.
People with diabetes often have to extract a drop of blood (for blood sugar testing) at least 3 times a day.

"People with diabetes often have to extract a drop of blood (for blood sugar testing) at least 3 times a day."
Yes, that's a good point and that's kind of along the same lines that I was thinking. I was wondering if people were maybe just marking the symbol out almost symbolically, so that it hardly leaves a mark for longer than 15 minutes and then using a lancet (like diabetics use) to extract a drop of blood from the center of it, or if maybe there was some other variation were the symbol is very lightly marked out and then a drop of blood is extracted from the fingertip with a lancet, etc.

I recommend, for a job-seeking spell, using a reasonably sharp knife to carve "666" into your forehead. You need to do this at three-day intervals for 30 days so that appropriate scar tissue builds up. For antiseptic, use Oil of Abramelin, working it well into the wound each time. This spell is guaranteed to have an effect like none other when it comes to job interviews! (I guarantee it will lead to a more alert, thinking, discriminating work-force if widely practiced.)

From Mass of the Phoenix
"he then makes upon his breast the proper sign"
So, neither a finger lancet, nor a "666" on the forehead (however silly) would match the instructions.

The daily eucharist practice is indeed very important, and one can use the ritual that best shows his intent, the kind of transformation he is aiming at.
The Mass of The Phoenix is suitable indeed, but if one has doubts about it, one should use some other ritual. The point is in taking raw material from nature (for example cake of light and wine), and consecrate it as for example the body and blood of God. In the end, the magician consumes the God into his own body cells, affirming the transmutation of the same too (or better, actually doing so).
This could be done even by the knocking of will, or by a very elaborate ritual.
Also, any ritual can be modified into your own, as long as you understand what it is that you're doing (and that is something you should always tend to ) -
I would be interested to hear comments on Lugum's method. Because:
YEARS ago, I was also an IV drug user, but into Magic. (Without a proper K, symbolizing the purity, sexuality, and Kabalistic divinity of what we all do now.) I would draw blood after using as Lugum did, but I would use it for talismans and spells. (I had not gotten into Crowley yet, more along the lines of someone who had gotten into "Satanic" Magic and other "Esoteric" practices that just won't flow with the true Magickal power of the Earth.
This was also BECAUSE I was an iV drug user. Very shortly after, I found Crowley, the Equinox, MITAP, and Diary of a Drug Fiend. After DOADF, I was not shooting in like 4 months. I stopped the H, and started drinking Opium Poppy tea, (completely legal almost everywhere.)
There was no immediate reward "rush" after drinking a cup, it was more than 6 times cheaper than H, and it took hours to completely manifest making it not very habit-forming. Within a few months of that, I didn't need opiates anymore... but you know what... I still drink it, sometimes a few times a week, when I have serious work to get done.
Regarding Crowley's view on Opiates: (Paraphrasing).. 'When one has removed the need to use, one can then use freely without fear of addiction. This is because one uses it only as one needs it for work. One doing one's true Will will not use and be addicted, they will be focusing on the marvels they will accomplish with the help of the drug, and the thought of using the drug after the work is completely non-extant.'
Of course this applies to every kind of drug from food to sex. "Always unto me. And no harm shall come from them"
Again, Paraphrasing, Nuit HERSELF, regarding the use of the drugs she revealed to Crowley. For those who do not know, they are Hashish, Cocaine, Peyote (The Cactus), Opium, Heroin, and Wines AND Wines that foam.I've done my research, research, research.
So I can come back to fine folks like you share these ideas.
