Yesod and the moon are connected to so many Goddesses, so why is the main Magickal image of Yesod a very "strong" male?

Moon in German is der Mond, i.e. its a male. The sun is die Sonne, i.e. its a female. Your learned way of approaching things isnt inherently right.

One 'symbol' of Yesod is Atlas, the very very strong man who acts as the foundation for the earth, holding it in place... One would think a good foundation should be strong.

Yesod is the male complement to Malkuth, masculine Air in complement to feminine Earth. It is also the house of the Yod-Sod, i.e., the esoteric doctrine of the phallus (among other related interpretations). These are separate symbols from its lunar side.

Yesod means Foundation and the strong guy represents this. Also associated with this sephirah are the righteous and so the concept of tzaddik is also linked with this, "the righteous, the foundation of the world" without which the world would not exist.

And interestingly, Yesod (and Teth) is 9 and Tzaddi is 90.
