Jungian Active Imagination

useless?
it's a very simplistic exercise and Jung claimed it led to "individuation". It's not exactly Rising On the Planes but more of an aimless wandering. Regardie would probbaly have categorised practitioners as "astral tramps"

I have found it to be amazingly useful & don't think it to be that far removed from Pathworking. It has helped me tremendousely by way of Rising on the Planes & Astral exploration in general. As a plus, I find that, when I employ it, my dreams become more lucid.

93,
He recommended it in the company of a trained professional I might add.
It is essentially an astral working, letting the 'astral' forms come through to teh conscious except one is explicitly not TRYING to do anything... i.e. not invoking Geburah, or Goetia, etc.
If the many empirical reports he wrote about say anything, I would say it is an effective tool in the right hands with the right person in the right circumstances...
Heres a good short article on it
