Alchemy and the A.'.A.'. ?

Over in the "Kundrie" thread, Jim said something that I wanted to ask about, but since it's really a new topic, I started a new thread:

Is there any published place where similar alchemical attributions of the A.'.A.'. grades are listed and discussed in more detail? (I apologize if this is in 776 1/2... I still haven't yet gotten my hands on a copy of that yet...)
I've been thinking about these ideas much more since I recently received my copy of Case's Esoteric Keys of Alchemy. Fascinating book!

But, from observation of oneself and others passing through them, it is exceedingly easy to observe that Neophyte (1=10) is a "volatilization of the fixed," while Zelator (2=9) is a "fixing of the volatile."
An exception of sorts (I don't regard it as all that dead-on, but it's certainly alchemically specific) is "The Chymical Jousting of Brother Perardua" from Equinox 1.

Interesting. Upon rereading the relevant chapters of M&MSAA, this dichotomy makes a lot of sense. So much about 2=9 seems all to say "Now let's get down to business!"
