Would you please share your understanding of the technical meaning of:

    "Hanged" or extended

from The Formula of ALHIM From Magick in Theory and Practice, Chapter IV, The Formula of ALHIM and that of ALIM

I want to interpret this as a fully engorged phallus, however I also assign the ATU card XV (the Devil) to that member in that state... and the "Hanged Man" as the after position

I think the use of the word "extended" is throwing me off...

    any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance.

In this context, "'Hanged' or extended" means "anally penetrated."

    Glad that was cleared up...

Yes I appreciate the insight; though I'm still puzzled about the use of the word extended...

It does make me re-examine the text though:
"Through his Work a Child is begotten, as shewn by the Serpent stirring in the Darkness of the Abyss below him." - book of thoth, pg 98

    'Stretch him out and..." etc.

I dove (bird and action) into that one...

According to ALHIM From Magick in Theory and Practice:
Mem can be represented by the wave
Mem final by the Sea at Peace

In trying to understand The Hanged Man better in terms of it's opposite path assigned ATU on the TOL, Fortune, would it be fair to say that:

Mem represents the turning of the Wheel, with it's extending and withdrawing forces care of the 2 lower animals shown
Mem final represents the attainment of position of the Sphinx OR of the axis in the middle of the wheel???

Spirit descending into Matter has always reminded me of the averse pentagram as well... could this be a form of spirit extended?

    Just noticed another thing.

Water can be 3 different forms (solid, gas, liquid), maybe like the three gunas (also like the holy triad which I only bring up to plug Bill Maher's Religulous, which was a fun movie and exactly what you would expect from Bill with a quite a bleak, threatening, serious msg at the end)

Alright I may have extended this post past the point of no return.
