Anyone else notice a definite shift in the last couple months? At least in this area, magickal activity has certainly dropped off, practioners (myself included) seem to have slowed or even stopped regular work, and there is much less chatter in the broader community.

For myself, it is almost as a period of "dryness" as Crowley mentions in Magick. This I have experienced before, and it has felt very isolated and personal.

There is a kind of different feeling to this though... the word feels like "Quiet" and is more external... regional.

Any thoughts? Have only within the past 24 hours had even the slightest inclination to return to work. Others I am aware of had been curious of the same thing. It feels bad to have to dust off the implements in the Temple, but I know I'm not the only one.

An odd shift. 2009 ought to be interesting.

From my point of view, definitely. After almost exactly 19 months the severe depression I had been in - triggered by another (so-called) Thelemite - lifted at exactly 5:35 PM 26th May UK Summer Time. I can be exact because I had just looked at the clock at work. Having never suffered before I hadn't realised it was so physical until it went, but the next day someone who has had it many times said "yes, it's physical, the black dog gets up, walks away and finds another kennel to pi** in".

But better, it took with it the background depression, mild but present, that I realised I had suffered for at least a decade, in practice for as long as I can remember (until it lifted I didn't realise it was there!).

Loads of realisations, understandings of the HGA/True Self/Interface with Reality/Divine Twin or whatever metaphor you choose - and with it a lot of calm and silence.

The ordeals are indeed severe, but worth it. Others - including the male "Thelemite" who attacked two Thelemite women in the UK late last year (and the woman who let a guy already paranoid smoke skunk at her flat every weekend non-stop) - will just have to learn at their own pace, I guess, (I only discovered this a fortnight ago) right now this is my time and I intend to make the most of it.[

93 93/93 and thanks to Hathor, the other great cow of heaven.

I've seen far more increase in individuals' magical activity over the past couple months than decrease or further stagnation. I don't think we're passing through the tail of a comet or anything like that.

No way! My activity has increased ten fold! I've completed a lot of major projects that correspond directly with my magickal work and am busy all the time. I feel a major shift toward increased activity and realization of things that seemed stagnant. Then again Saturn has gone direct after retrograding into virgo and giving me a somewhat second Saturn Return last October so the relief I'm feeling could be attributed to that. All in all, things are finally beginning to gain momentum for me. ❗

    93,

    No, my selectively-perceiving, confirmation-bias-ridden friends!
