And "Meral" was a contrived word to express Phyllis' magical formula. She created it by writing her initial articulation of her True Will (in English) in Hebrew cognates and getting 276. She then composed a word that would add to 276. She told me she wanted to be sure to have the -AL in it for Liber AL, which left 245, and this remnant easily provided the R, M, and H. The rest was scrabble!
I noted that the three parts were all linked in the letter Mem: mer- being a broad water-related root, -AL being the Divine Name of Water, and the whole, 276, being the Mystic Number of the 23rd Path. She kindly told me I was nuts and it meant no such thing! (I took this to mean that she hadn't ever consciously thought that particular thing about it
). Since it was her motto, I didn't press the point, but privately chuckled since the whole arose out of the phrase, I will to love (Y VYLL TO LOVH = 10 + 76 + 79 + 111 = 276).
