A data-point that might help you: in the OTO, you could technically take the 1st degree initiation immediately after the Minerval initiation. (I've known some who did).
I would worry less about "harm" and more about what fits your needs and goals.

I am in the OTO and also a freemason, living in the UK.
IMO both practices will inform eachother and you will also appreciate the OTO rituals on different level as you can see what Crowley changed and why...the differences are most illuminating...Best Wishes Brother.
