I would worry less about "harm" and more about what fits your needs and goals.

I believe there is no incompatibility between those two particular passages near each other.

I am in the OTO and also a freemason, living in the UK.
IMO both practices will inform eachother and you will also appreciate the OTO rituals on different level as you can see what Crowley changed and why...the differences are most illuminating...Best Wishes Brother.
