Hello all.
New to ToT, new to much of this.
My background is that of an atheist with a penchant for mythology and poetry - it is through the symbol sets inherent in both that I have become more interested in the realm beyond the rational and the potential to be found in hermetics.
I have also found, thus far, none of the rigid ideological thinking that so turned me away from Abrahamic faiths. This is not to say that I do not see beauty and truth in those faiths and others, but I am turned off by arrogant claims to literal truth when they are impressed upon others with no room for personal verification beyond pointing at a book.
The idea of the will guided by love, and an organization that is open to all, has vast appeal to me - as does the potential to explore myself and my personal energy both as I relate to others and as I make my way through the world thriving rather than merely surviving.
Looking forward to the learning that lays before me. Thank you for your time in reading this.
