Reading Book of Revelation in the original Greek
-
Reading some of the discussion here reminds me of something I tried about eight years ago.
I was doing a self-study class on Koine and I wanted to practice my pronunciation. I was home alone late one night and I was reading by the light of a large candle. (Just for kicks-n-grins, I have always liked candlelight).
Without going into too much detail I'll just say that the results were ...surprising. I was neither expecting nor consciously trying to generate any psychic phenomena because until very recently I had not looked into this sort of thing. But there was an undeniable power current that was palpable, to put it mildly.
I wonder if other books of the Bible have a similar feature about them. Some seem rather mundane while others, like maybe the Gospel of John, might be similarly imbued.
Anyone here familiar with this idea?

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

Ancient languages awaken ancient perceptions.
It was probably the rythmn and intonation of the language itself that so impressed you; Latin and Greek have a way of inspiring a quality of holiness. Whenever I want to go into monk mode I put on some Gregorian Chant. Works well.

Complete agreement with your entire post there, JPF.
Yes, the chant or Sequentia, Polyphonia, etc. Love it!
(I like to light a candle and burn incense too).Maybe try this with a pair of decent headphones;

Would it be anything you can share with us? (Oh... It looks like it was something that made you go off and start a new thread...nevermind....)
