    Hello!

Do people tend to resign from A.'.A.'. for any particular set of reasons? If so, do these reasons change as people progress up the tree of life? Or is it really too individual to make any definate call about this?

    Thanks!

Yes, it's highly individual. I haven't noticed any particular patterns (and, after Probationer, I haven't encountered many resignations).

In Temple of Thelema, we've seen more pronounced patterns. Each degree has its typical range of reasons, and those reasons are clearly linked to the character of the degree.

I think we can reasonably generalize this for A.'.A.'. (back to your specific question) that the reason is pretty much always either that they learn something about themselves that sets them in a different direction, or they refuse to learn something about themselves and so flee what would bring them up against it. (Or maybe both at once.)

Thank you Jim! I appreciate your response.

So to take a positive view, people don't tend to resign for any set of reasons that were not already with them to begin with, although they may not have know about these reasons to begin with.

Eventually a person gets to a point where there is nothing left to prove, his work is accomplished, he's prepared in his way ready to enter the Chariot where from the beyond of which is no return.
