Hello
I am currently doing research and think this forum could help in my processes. This is for an upper division course work pertaining to Native American Studies, my area is psychology and policy. My name is Anistara (online) and want to say hello. But I also want to answer some questions regarding Indigenous Native Americans and First Nations Aboriginals (Canada) that I found through my search on the board. I can't speak for other tribes but my own, but to be fair, I have some knowledge and have spent time with many tribes, our brothers and sisters. I am also a Thelemite, so I have my work cut out for me since I have yet to find another Indigenous Magician of the same ilk (but open to it!!)
I responded to a post earlier this week. I was angry. But it has given me food for thought as I pound out the whatnot's amongst my brethren. This issue is a tool for my own bridge building along the currents that are designed to offer freedom to those who will. I will start a new post and answer those points for future inquiries by others who may be interested.

93,
Having moved recently to Mexico, where there's a tiny community of people who are interested in Thelema, I'm interested in how the 93 current manifests in societies other than those rooted essentially in western European social concepts. So far, there seems to be some crossover emerging between shamanism (which is a very loose term, appropriated by many different people in different ways) and Thelema. But it's very early days, so that might shift.
I think your post earlier this week was a sensible, informative response to a glib generalization.

Thanks Edward
Some would call it semantics, but after spending time with and adopting into our potlatch and actual shaman, from Siberia, I find the word to be a catch all. My concern is that it isn't just semantics, but actual titles of a specific kind of people. I find (mis) appropriation a part of that "post" colonial type of non-sense that has created a large but flimsy base supporting power that isn't geared toward making elementary corrections. I think people are lazy thinkers. I know it's not my job to fix it. Or is it? I'm refraining from being idle and hope that some of this stuff can cross pollinate amongst the way out west, and south.
Love Mexico, a far different circumstance down there than here. Looking forward to mixing things up!
