The matrix of psychological projections
-
Some reflections on Gimel...
Commonly, psychological projections are interpreted as separating (dinstinguishing) - they appear to define aspects of ourselves as external to ourselves. That's a defensive, backwards view. Actually, projections are inherently unifying, connecting the various impressions of ourselves independent of whether they appear within or without.
After all, within-without is a constantly shifting boundary. At one level, any psychological content is internal; but our thoughts and emotions are quite external to any deeper sense of self. (Just the smallest amount of yoga, or even abstracting oneself from a rioting thought or emotion, makes this clear enough.) So, “within” vs. “without” is pretty arbitrary, a useful distinction in a given moment, but not in any persistent sense.
The matrix of projections is a unifying mechanism, binding together aspects of self-perspective. The greater matrix of these is a direct expression of the lunar idea that Qabalists call the Unifying Consciousness, “the consummation of the essential Truth of unified spiritual being.”

I'm new to trying to tie in the concepts of the Qabalah and correspondences, but I'll give a shot at a comment here...
Looking through the Key Scale in 777 Gimel leads me to the path that ties Tiphareth and Kether together. The first part of the first paragraph is the descending perspective from Kether out to Tiphareth. So, to me, this defines the experience of things external to ourselves.
Also, the path from Tiphareth to Kether would be the opposite experience. The fusion of everything, inner and outer, into One. That must be a hell of Camel to cross that Desert to reach the Grand Oasis.
Some questions come to mind regarding the significance of the path being on the middle pillar and having a degree of harmony and unity inherent to it. Also, the direct intersection with D'aath to Kether - possibly a need to conquer the Ruach at its summit (I'm probably wrong here regarding the summit) to come to the Unifying Consciousness. I haven't articulated properly - but your comment has led me in this neighborhood.

Interesting. Doesn't remind me of that passage at all, since I'd have said that all such points are equally real.
