Lust for results
-
In the Tao Teh Ching, it is stated:
Heaven and earth proceed without motive, but casually in their order of
nature, dealing with all things carelessly, like used talismans. So also
the sages deal with their people, not exercising benevolence, but
allowing the nature of all to move without friction.and
Heaven and Earth are mighty in continuance, because their work is
delivered from the lust of result. To me it sounds like, perfect "being" is delivered from a lack of lust for results. No purpose, just doing.
In Book 4 pt.2 under the description of the wand, it describes any magick preformed that deviates from the vector of your Holy Guardian Angel is considered black magick.
Is Crowley suggesting, that any magick preformed with the intent of bringing you closer to your HGA will be given an added momentum?
- Assuming ^ that is correct, would this mean that by preforming low magick, so long as I can justify its result as a means to bring me closer to my HGA, it would be much more effective?
Does this contradict whats written in the Tao Teh Ching?
When preforming my daily cleansings and the bornless rite, should I be doing this with a desire to attain K&C of my HGA, or should I just be preforming the ritual with no result in mind?

I look at it like this:
human is a mixure of animal , divine and something in-between (... a bridge).
the animal part needs the 'carrot' (like the proverbial - and real - donkey does) to move; the divine part is free from any lust for result; and that in between - well, it is a combination of both these aforementioned, and it's the place where the problem arises.
solution, as I am able to see it now: give the animal its carrot, and put the whole animal-and-its-carrot mechanism under the supervision of the divine (i.e. give the divine its animal )."When preforming my daily cleansings and the bornless rite, should I be doing this with a desire to attain K&C of my HGA, or should I just be preforming the ritual with no result in mind?"
if you do it with desire to attain K&C, the 'in-between'/human/Ruach part of yourself is training to become a 'pure bridge', to connect the animal and the divine (which is its purpose) - it is opening towards the higher (more inner), and at the same time accepting the lower (outer, less subtle) and refining it, so to speak.
K&C is not a result here as any mundane goal is - striving for those goals is like going in circle, walking on the rim, and striving towards K&C is aiming to the still-point inside (becoming the point in the circle).
