13. They shall change in their destruction, even as two dark stars that crash together in the abyss, and blaze up in an infinite burning. What value have the words 'Prophet' and 'They' in this text? On the face of it, thinking about the presence of special individuals in the history of the world, the following thoughts breed:
The whole idea of change is one of those very difficult notions, attractive and all but impossible in practice. People are always projecting into a vague future and predicting healing or wholeness, and after thirty years are surprised to find, to feel they are essentially the same person with the same problems and same blindness.
It begs the questions: what kind of change is possible, and what is necessary to create this change?
New, heavier elements are created in the collision of dark stars. In the intensity of that collision new compounds of electrons, protons and neutrons are created with novel properties. This process of emergence is possibly a true model of real change—that the next level of integrated complexity will reveal possibilities that cannot be predicted by the constituting elements. In other words, even though you know how an electron behaves, that knowledge will tell you nothing about the nature of Hydrogen. How much less about the element berkelium?
This process of emergence is a great fantasy of the historical positivists. It has, or should have meaning for those Thelemites who take a primarily historical view of the Book of the Law. But emergence cannot be predicted by the scientific method, that's one of it's hallmark characteristics. So we are left wondering what kind of emergence will accrue when enough people have achieved Briahtic consciousness.
The Jesuit priest and scientist Chardin held a similar view—the next stage would be unpredictable, the result of the psychic pressure of untold numbers of human minds on the planet forcing a kind of fusion into a new, heavier element of the order of humanity, but possessing none of the tell-tale characteristics we are already familiar with through our observations and study of history. He even postulated that this transformation would ** blaze up in an infinite burning**.
Curious.
Love and Will

The profane being thus purified are capable of receiving the benefit of the Initiation of the Adept.
13. They shall change in their destruction, even as two dark stars that crash together in the abyss, and blaze up in an infinite burning.

The reference seems to be a theory (at present unfashionable) of the formation of nebulae. The point here is simply that the intimate contact of two apparently ‘dark’ or ‘evil’ ideas leads to their transmutation into Light. It is “love under will.”*-- I like his commentary to the particular verses above. It furthers the ideas of reconciliation...and that there isn't an idea that isn't potentially useful for Growth.

Healing and destruction are equated for "them."
When a broken bone sets incorrectly, a doctor will have to re-break the bone to set it properly.
"The wounds of a friend are faithful."
It's not a popular concept, but it's very old.

"12. Thou shalt be lovely and pitiful toward them; thou shalt heal them of the unutterable evil."
The very presence of the Adept - the impact of his or her aura - agitates and energies the psyche of all with whom he or she comes in contact. Here the Angel is saying that even those who hate or despite the Adept will be affected by his or her presence, will be healed (made more whole) by the contact. It matters no whit how they feel about the Adept - the Light that flows through the Adept will impact them, energizing whatever is salient in their character.
A day for witnessing and being mindful of the impact my presence has on those with whom I have even negligible contact...
