Cardinal, Fixed & Kerubic Zodiac signs
-
From what I understand, the 12 signs of the zodiac are assigned to four elements & grouped in threes.
Each element has under it a cardinal, fixed and a kerubic zodiac sign. Can someone please explain to me exactly what these three different terms actually mean in this context?
Thank you! -
In which context?
Specifically, I mean: Are you asking about their meaning astrologically, or in some other context such as the symbols of Tarot? I see you've posted this under Magick, so there may be still another context I'm missing. Please clarify. (The answer would be different, depending on what you're actually asking about.)

"":245xmlwo]could you please explain both its astrological and its tarot meaning?"
Well, they're almost unrelated. The first fact to get is that many other areas of study use astrological symbols without their usage having much to do with the actual astrological meaning. For example, alchemy and Qabalah (including Tarot) make use of astrological symbols, but you would make many mistakes if you assumed that how these are used in alchemy or Tarot matches how they manifest astrologically.
To study them astrologically, you first need to be using an accurate zodiac, i.e., the Sidereal Zodiac. If you're not familiar with this, go to www.solunars.org and read some of the introductory essays. Then, a discussion of the Cardinal, Fixed, and Mutable characteristics can be found here: olunars.net/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=21
For Tarot, the usage is more or less the same as the gunas (or, in European terms, the alchemical principles): Cardinal = Sulphur or rajas, Fixed = Salt or tamas, Mutable = Mercury or sattva. I don't know of any source that goes into this more than in passing except my own Tarot book, Liber Theta. Thanks, I hadn't realized those had fallen off. I've just restored them. See the original article.
