Hello everyone. My dayjob is teacher. My nightjob is weird comics, podcasting, and research of occult subjects, science, and pop culture.
I am a Minerval in the O.T.O., which means I just joined that particular Order. I found a Thelemic body shortly after discovering the Speech in the Silence and Thelema Now podcasts. Which were great resources.
My wife and I both became Thelemites. She was persuaded after only one reading of the lightning concise Liber Oz.
Before that I had been a militant atheist for years. Though my youth was rich in religious dabbling.
My atheism served as a good filter for experimentation. I became a meditator based on the neuroscience research of Dr. Richie Davidson and Dr. Jon Kabat Zinn. I began also to use ritual magic, my family has a santeria background, I am Chilean. I found ritual magic to be intensely cathartic and powerful for triggering extremely productive emotional states.
I believe Thelema has served me as a militant source of Positive Psychology.
I am extremely into the idea of Aeon of Horus and the Will as the principal ethos.
I believe the practice of Magick, and the work contained within the rigors of the Thelemic tradition serve to change the practitioner and that this alone is easily verified empirically by the practitioners and those who can observer before and after states.
I am into a ton of stuff within the occult world, but I view all this through Thelemic lenses. I have had wonderful encounters with other Thelemites and believe that it is the finest bunch of people in the world.
I look forward to conversations on this forum. I am also pretty active on r/occult, and r/thelema on reddit.com.
