    II
    THE PRIESTESS
    (Luna)

MEDITATION COLOR: Blue (infused with white).

HEBREW LETTER: Gimel, camel; from a root meaning, “to bear, to carry,” implying mother symbolism. As a verb, “to wean, ripen.” A camel is a means of effectively traveling long distances through dry and barren terrain – the Mystical Journey.

CARD NAME: Priestess (a form of “priest” chosen to convey a specifically feminine idea) is from the Indo-European root per-, basically meaning “forward” or “through,” and used in many extended senses such as “in front of,” “before,” “first,” “chief,” “toward,” “around.” Important derivatives (besides spatial ones: far, forth, further) include: paramount, paradise, foremost, first, privilege, privy (or deprive), proper, premier prime, primal, primary, primitive, prince, principal, principle, pristine, priest.

ESOTERIC MEANING: The Uniting Consciousness (or Consciousness Leading to Unity). It is the Essence of Glory. It is the consummation of the essential Truth of unified spiritual being.

TREE of LIFE: Tiphereth to Kether. As on the Tree of Life, The Priestess is situated between two pillars where a veil partitions the relatively Outer from the Inner. (Links ‘Beauty’ and ‘the Crown’; or the Ego-center with Unconditional Being, Ruach with Yechidah; or ‘the Son’ with ‘the Ancient of Days.’)

ESOTERIC TITLE: The Priestess of the Silver Star

TANTRIC & ALCHEMICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The Priestess: the Vehicle (or bearer) of the Word.

DIVINATION: A pure, exalted, and gracious influence enters the matter. Change, alternation, reaction, increase and decrease, fluctuation, cyclicity, rhythm; whether for good or evil depends on the dignity. Secrets, hidden things, mysteries awaiting later disclosure. There may be, however, a liability to be carried away by enthusiasm, to become “moonstruck,” unless careful balance is maintained.

Today a friend of mine shared something interesting with me today I felt was related to this card. She said "All you are is nothing and your word. Trust yourself as your word. You are your word. Not your reasons, thoughts, feelings or circumstances..."

Here are the notes from my meditation today:

"The background: instantly brings to mind the watery nature of Chesed receiving influxes of love and light from above the abyss. It's not entirely blue. It looks a little aqua-blueish.

light crescents: ripples or vibrations from the light travelling outward

The arms of the priestess: she's got both arms outstretched, touching both pillars - reminds me of the path of daleth connect Chokmah to Binah. We start to see a mixture of colors at that point, ranging from blue to green to a tinge of red. It appears that the motion she made when she reached for the pillars caused the energy to swirl inward.

The Priestess - I dunno why but when I began to soak in the image of the Priestess I got the impression that I was looking in the mirror at myself for a second or two. She's completely white - pure-unstained and untainted.

The bow - her weapon of choice. Notice that a bow must be aimed at something and in order to use it we must pull it back until it cannot go back anymore and then release it to propel the arrow forward. Perhaps the priestess bears a word and when she speaks it is an act of releasing the word upon the world.

The arched matrix: the medium in which the word is carried forth along its path. The word is like a car and this matrix is the road. It's much more pronounced than it was in the Magus trump.

The throne: being seated implies being fixed in one spot directing everything before it

Fruit & vegitables: didn't really connect with these symbols

Gems: light crystallizing into a more solid form
    "

Today's meditation wasn't so great. I was pretty upset with someone when I started it so much of what came through is filtered through a lens of upset, distrust and disappointment. The person I was upset with is a woman too. Here's the notes:

    background: water, an emotional matter

crown: 3 phases of the moon, the full range of emotions

    the priestess: purity, vulnerability

    the crescents: truth distorted

the bow & arrow: weapon to inflict pain. before you speak you must draw in a breath just like you must draw the bow in order to shoot the arrow

web - tangled web of lies and deceit, a defense mechanism set up to inhibit reaching the truth

throne - seat of power, perhaps too much power, or some fucked up perception of one's self that gives them an air of authority, "I'm better than you"

    fruit - probably poisoned

camel - indication of the barren life and the person is the camel riding through it

I connect much better to RWS Empress, Thoth's is one of my least favorite cards in the deck... still, here it is.

Btw, here is a pic of my actual meditation space : http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii15/magicturtoise/HP.jpg

I envisioned the blue egg around me and entered the card...
i was sitting at the Priestess throne.
I was the Priestess. I was immovable. I could move, but didn't want or have to to...
    Still,
everything was coming my way, drawn to me by this veiled force,

pulling in everything around towards the center of the energy whirlpool ,
    where the throne stood.

I don't have to do, i just need to be - and everything will be as it should.

No words, no thoughts, only feeling and experiencing. I instinctively know, i intuitively understand.

There is no excitement, no movement, no fret.

    I feel pulsating sensations in my body like some pleasant, hot waves travelling through me;
    all is calm and still.

The camel walks towards me and pushes it head down to my lap; i am caressing her and feeding her fruit.
