    Hello all,

Lately I have been running the Vibratory Formular of the Middle Pillar using the five main Sephiroth (kether, daath, tipareth, the point at the groin and malkuth).

My primary experience is with Taoist and Buddhist tantric practice and the results dovetail nicely with the methods I'm used to using, but faster.

Is there anything wrong with running the formula with all ten Sephiroth instead of just the Middle pillar?

If so, are there any techniques to mitigate this or do I need to change anything?

    Thanks,

    Peacedog

Well... then it's not the Middle Pillar, right? And you have energy going a variety of ways through the aura at once.

There may be a place for that. For example, if you see Sample Ritual No. 1 in my book 776 1/2, there's explicit use of the Lightning Flash formulation in the aura, using the entire Tree. But that was for a specific purpose different from the usual use of this formula.

So I guess my answer is: Ususally it's not going to be the most advantgeous approach, but sometimes it may suit exactly what you're doing.

    Magus Eshelman,

Thank you for the response. The Middle Pillar methodology is an interesting one. Very fast and very effective.

The Taoist technique I know for this works well, but is rather slow. The king set takes 12 hours of continuous practice in a standing posture. It works the crown, heart, guts, perineum, and testes/kidneys/throat. The liver receives benefits as well.

What is most interesting to me is the projection aspect of the ritual. In the Taoist school I am from we have a very similar technique for energizing Kether, but it involves project up out of the crown using a kind of bounce off of the feet not unlike the technique in the Vibratory Formula of the Middle Pillar. Except of course it goes up instead of out via the hands and Tipareth.

The energy returns in from above in a manner not unlike the Middle Pillar ritual.

Having been through the kundalini many years ago I absorb the energy fairly well, but I can see how this would be overwhelming for someone who has not gone through the experience previously.

To date, instead of running just one of the spheres via the Virbratory Formula I have been doing all five of the Middle Pillar shperes in succession. Is this doing too much or am I missing out on the experience of the other spheres and just getting the end result from Malkuth?

Also, at the end of this practice should I banish with both the LBRP and the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Hexagram, or does this defeat the purpose of manifesting the energy in the first place?

Again, thank you for your time and experience.

    Cheers,

    Peacedog

I find your comments on the Taoist practices very interesting; I find a great deal of similarity with Tai Chi, which I've been studying under a good teacher for a number of months.

It is never bad to banish before and after any practice such as this. It doesn't dissipate the energy when one banishes afterward, as that energy (chi 😉 ) is already manifest in your self.

    That is my understanding.
