Cherubic signs and elementary directions in ritual.
-
Would it be possible for someone to explain to me the correlations between "Cherubic" signs and the "Cherubic" directions to elements given in the Lesser Ritual of the Hexagram, (Fire:East;Air:West;Water:North;Earth:South).
And I know this may sound stupid, but I cannot find references for what the Cherubic signs are besides Taurus being one of them.
I am trying to understand why the directions are the way they are, given in Liber O and in other places. I know they are (2nd vault) directions, but I would like to understand why and how they are like that.
Any help anyone would be willing to give would be greatly appreciated!

The elemental distribution in the published versions of the Lesser Ritual of the Hexagram are based on taking Y.H.V.H. (the oldest recorded Divine Name of Tiphereth) clockwise from the east thus, Fire, Water, Air, Earth in east, north, west, and south, respectively. This is called the macrocosmic scheme.
However, what isn't included in the published versions is that this only applied to the hexagram ritual as performed within the Vault of the Adepts. (I just noticed below that you do know this.) In other situations, the microcosmic scheme is to be used, the same one as in the pentagram ritual.

The Kerubic Signs are otherwise known as the Fixed or Hub signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius.
