Four of Disks

Meditation Pattern: Place Atu XIX, The Sun, and Atu XV, The Devil, side-by-side, with the 4 of Disks above them.

Traditional Description: A branch of a rose tree, but without flowers or buds; except that in the center is one fully blown white rose. The four Disks are disposed as on the points of a square; a rose in its center. Symbols of Sol and Capricorn are above and below to represent the Decanate.

Chesed of Earth: Dominating and stabilizing the practical situation. Skill in directing physical resources. Government through law, order, pattern, system. Gain of money or influence; a present.

Sol/Capricorn: Assured material gain: success, rank, dominion, earthly power, paternal power; completed, but leading to nothing beyond. Vigilant authority. Industrious, but little originality. Prejudicial, covetous, suspicious; careful, serious, and orderly, but discontented. According to dignity as usual.

Chesed/Jupiter + Sol: Power, authority, instinct for command; but inclined to self-aggrandizement and superiority. A rightful ruler, or a pretentious bigot.

That old feeling comes time mind... When I was a kid, Dad built me an incredible treehouse - three stories, trap doors, flag.

Man, there was no way anybody could get us if we were in there. From the top floor, we could throw the prickly, green, under-ripe pinecones - the painful kind - much farther than anybody just standing on the ground could. If anybody new wanted in, we just had to exhaust our pinecone supply on them first before we were ready to come down and, reload on pinecones, and let a new person up.

The other image it brings up from childhood is Batman. Batman had all the coolest gadgets, and he could always whip one out to dominate a situation. He had to use his gadgets, you know. He didn't have any superpowers. But he had something for everything on his utilitiy belt.

I think the dancing children and the grinning goat have me reminiscing about playing..

So I'm staring a new job next week and I've been preoccupied with how I am going to organize myself. I'm asking myself questions like: What's my lunch budget going to be? Where am I going to eat? Where am I gonna work out? What's the easiest & fastest way to get to work? What banks are in the neighborhood?

Basically: How can I set myself up as powerful as possible to ensure the most pleasurable work experience?

Being that I am leaving my current job I have to create a manual for my position. And I'm asking myself "How can I set this person up powerfully? What do they need to know?"

This trump, to me, it all about setting up shop in the best possible way.

That's fantastic - you really seem to be riding the wave of this ride through the Disks.

And just to help out a little bit: There's a sausage cart almost exactly one block east of where you're going to be working, and it's amazing - best sausage I ever had in Manhattan. (And no, that's not slang <g>.)

I regret having to admit this, but I have fallen behind in the meditations. I have been keeping this card, with the flanking ones, on my mind all week, but haven't formally meditated on them. But there is one thing interesting to note; during this time I bought a new car. This was my first new car and first time with a car payment.

I will proceed with catching up with the meditations.
