April 14-16, 2012: 10 of Disks
-
WEALTH
Ten of DisksMeditation Pattern: Place Atu I, The Magus, and Atu IX, The Hermit, side-by-side, with the 10 of Disks above them.
Traditional Description: A branch whose roses touch all the Disks. No buds, however, are shown. The symbols Mercury and Virgo are above and below.
The Disks are thus arranged:
O O O
O O
O O O
O O
Malkuth of Earth: Prosperity, riches, wealth. The completion or reward of labor (or of the Great Work).Mercury/Virgo: Completion of material gain and fortune; as it were, at the very pinnacle of success (but nothing beyond?). The requirement to mobilize intelligence to manage what has been built or acquired. Practical management of affairs. Old age, slothfulness; great wealth, yet sometimes partial loss; heaviness; dullness of mind, yet clever and prosperous in money transactions.
Malkuth + Mercury: (The meaning of this constellation of symbols is virtually identical to that of the other combinations of attributions for this card.)

This is very exciting... the completion of a new cycle. This card stands, in the cycle of the Minor Arcana, in the same place that The Universe stands among the Trumps. (And, for that matter, the Princess of Disks among the Courts.)
Which brings me to the REAL reason this card is exciting me: Next week (I'm jumping ahead!) we start on the Court Cards, which are the least understood among the 78 Tarot arcana. If you've been along for the ride so far... ready to leap into passing gear. You're likely to encounter the Courts like you've never encountered them before.

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
It is seemingly synchronistic that I had been contemplating this card before realizing it was the one being meditated upon here for these last few days.
I literally just finished reading Let Your Life Speak by Parker J. Palmer before making this post which (spoiler alert!) ends in with this equation: community = abundance. This TED talk I watched last night also speaks to this in a sense that I find similar.
To me, I see this card as emphasis that every man and every woman is a star. There is another interpretation that I'm having difficulty finding words for, but the jist is that all things are (for lack of a better term) "trapped" in Unity.
Love is the law, love under will.
