    From Essay on Number:

    1. wt, the letter Tau (see 400), also AThH, “Thou.” Note that AHA (7), the divine name of Venus (7) gives the initials of Ani, Hua, Ateh—I, He, Thou; three different aspects of a deity worshipped in three persons and in three ways: viz. (1) with averted face; (2) with prostration; (3) with identification.

    Q1: How do these align?
    Ani = I = Identification
    Hua = He = Averted Face
    Ateh = Thou = Prostration

    Q2: Are the God Names in the LBRP similarly three ways to worship deity + 1 formula of how deity works (or am I reaching on this one):
    YHVH = the recipe (the next three are ingredients)
    Adonai = He = Averted Face
    Eheieh = I = Identification
    AGLA = Thou = Prostration

    Q3: What are the intentions of each type of practice?
    Identification = Ego as God
    Averted Face = God as all encompassing including Ego
    Prostration = Ego as Dirt

    Ani = I = Identification
    Hua = He = Averted Face
    Ateh = Thou = Prostration"

    That's how I'd do it, though one wonders why Crowley didn't keep the sequence parallel.

    "Q2: Are the God Names in the LBRP similarly three ways to worship deity + 1 formula of how deity works (or am I reaching on this one):"

    That's not bad, really. Actually insightful. But I'd rearrange them differently. AHYH, of course, is Identification. I'd say YHVH is Averted Face (since it's the completely ineffable, unpronounceable, etc.), and ADNY is most characteristically used in deep devotion, thus the Prostration leg. (The notariqon A.G.L.A. is just a particularization of the adoration of ADNY.)

    "Q3: What are the intentions of each type of practice?
    Identification = Ego as God
    Averted Face = God as all encompassing including Ego
    Prostration = Ego as Dirt"

    I'd suggest reading a standard work on Bhakti Yoga - Vivekananda's is excellent, and even Liber Astarte touches on it. - The purpose can change with the individual and situation. For example, while prostration can indeed be used for ego mortification, it is also an act of sublime adoration.

    FWIW, The Gates of Light, a 13th century cabalistic text that discusses divine names, attributes Ani to Malkuth, Attah to Tiphereth, and Hu to Kether.

    Hehehe!
    I stands separate and distinct.
    Doer (I) and the deed done.
    Thou: Doer & Deed are One
    (and are observed by a Third, who is secret to the many and the known)
