The ego needing to be diffused before the crossing, as it would have no desire to return and instead wish to remain in bliss. Leaving no self-originating desire to return something 'else' or 'other' would be required, the 'garden' what ever that may be. The Master essentially returning for its sake. Could there be another reason? A strong enough Will to go even farther? -
