And be ye sure that God doth aid all those who put their confidence in Him and in His Wisdom, and such as wish to live rightly, making use with honour of the deceitful world, which ye shall hold in abomination, and see that ye make no account of its opinion when ye shall be arrived at the perfection of the work, and that ye shall be possessors of this Sacred Magic.
Making use with honor the decietful.world.....are we talking ethics here, and as a thelemite I can so see and grasp that....honesty, honor, freely giving and respecting all....no matter how dispicable they may seem...after all they are insane as crowley put it.
And.as.far as their opinion and judgement of what it is.we do, it doesnt apply for.we are some how above their code of morals.

Agreed. Abramelin had the moral standards of a pious Medlieval Jew. Perfectly fine in its own context, but not necessarily useful to somebody outside of that context.

I think this quote is extremely relevant to the modern magician and Thelemite; when abrogated to fit the context of the New Aeon.
"Make use with honor of the deceitful world". Magick is concerned with the experiencing of the REAL; and I think Thelema must hold Truth as one of its absolute core values. If the large mass of humanity does not know its own true Will, then they can't possibly help but be "deceitful", first to themselves, and then to others, whether they intend to or not.
I think its somewhat the duty of a Thelemite to hold this particular lack of truth as "abomination", and certainly not "take into account" the opinions of this untruthful world in the sense of allowing it to in any way oppose our own quest for the "perfection of the work".93!
