Scales of colours on the pathes

Last night stepped into etheric plane and the colour was not grey as ussual, but bright citrine and it means king scale. My qestion is why do i step into exactly one scale not into other? What determinates that? There is four scales as four elements so maybe there is some kind of balancing of scales, since balance is basis of the whole work?

My personal view is that these colors could (a) be arbitrary or (b) be more relevant in terms of your own personal relationship thereto. If you are steeped in the Hermetic Qabalistic tradition, though, it could very well refer to a certain Element being over- or under-balanced insofar as the Four Worlds or Scales refer also to the Four Elements to a certain extent (Atziluth = King = Fire, Briah = Queen = Water, Yetzirah = Prince = Air, Assiah = Princess = Earth).
Hopefully you're doing the LBRP beforehand, but if not it would be good to do for the sake of balancing your Circle, so to speak.
In the end, as with all magick, it comes down to experimentation - play around with it, change little things, and see what happens. Also, as with all magick, one should ask "To what end?" - that is, why are you entering the etheric plane? Is there a specific goal relevant to finding your True Will or attaining K&C with the Holy Guardian Angel? Always good to think about. Hope that helps.
